Levens not happy, he wanted to go or be given the chance to chat to them, and was refused, he'll walk for nought at end of season

Why not,at least we are proving we are no pushover,Colchester have paid £250k for one of there players who is out of contract at the end of season ok they are in championship but isn't Hammond around 30 !

Why not?

Because he could leave for nothing by the end of the season?

If he would have been interested in talking to them and been refused, he might be peeed off enough to go anyway in 6 months.
A new hope.

Seems strange. He stated he would not sign unless we went up, and there are bigger clubs in the division above that could compete for his signature. Promotion is far from garaunteed, yet we turn down 100 big ones?

I hope LR knows what he is doing.
A new hope.

It's the club taking a gamble and showing ambition. (he'll go for 125 later lol)

Lets wait and see shall we,he might even be prepared to sign another deal with us,ok £100k is a lot of money but we have turned it down just supposing they came back with £200k we could turn that down too,it could just prove we have our own ambitions.

I can see where you're coming from, and theres many ways to look at this. I think that Rico would be aware that if there was a shot of a chance of interest from a higher club, then leven would completely go off the rails, as he has shown over the last couple of weeks (part from sky game :) ). So we mayswell get our moneys worth out of him, as he unlikely to produce whether he stays or not. If brighton decided not to make an offer, could the club not offer them the player for the original 100K towards the end of the window?

If he helps gets us promotion it will be worth far more than 100k, remember we got relegated following the disruption caused by last year January window outgoings

I suppose it depends on how confident LR is on promotion.

Going up would be worth more than £100k, just from the increase in away gates and TV money.

Lets hope its a gamble that LR gets right.

Well Rooney has gone in this window and i think that keeping him would have been far more advantageous in our promotion push than trying to get someone new in who doesnt know the system - assuming we've got a system that is

It shows another thing there isn't any stupid clauses written into his contract,he is our player and we dictate whether he goes or not,Leven must know the score, only Brighton have shown an interest he could do better,we gave him a chance down here now perhaps he's being loyal to us.

Loyalty in football?

A rare commodity indeed, and I doubt it would apply in this case, he has after all, only been here half a season.
A new hope.
