......our colours are ROYAL BLUE. Yet again we sacrifice tradition and heritage for another tinge of blue that bears no resemblence to ROYAL BLUE. And why does RED keep appearing on the shirt.
It says in my Roy of the Rovers Book 1965:
Chesterfield F.C.
SHIRTS: Royal Blue.
SHORTS: White.
SOCKS: Royal Blue with White Tops.
How many seasons is it now since we played in our traditional colours?

Does it really matter what shade of blue the shirt is so long as the team can play in it!! - that includes the midfield if we ever get one

The latest shirt looks a little pale in photos but I didn't notice this when I saw it in real life.
However the colour I associate the Spireites with is a pure blue or medium blue. Despite calling it Royal Blue we have tended to be significantly brighter.
The accepted electronic versions are here.

The colour I have on my shirt with the union jack on the front matches to the royal blue on the chart, but all my other shirts are different shades of blue.In my oppinion the oiginal colour is important.

I think you will find that the "brilliant" green/white stripes shirt was his design, nearest he could get to CFC playing in celtic colours.

Thanks Pete but I think a lot of those colours have been someone's invention; a bit like those you see in a paintbox. The club's traditional colours have almost been like that described as blue on your chart. The colour named royal blue was always a darker shade of blue nothing like that on the chart. As for the red we should drop it. Those who don't care have no sense of tradition and would have us playing in pink, which I believe Hartlepool did once.

when I first started watching town we played in a Royal blue shirt which looked black after about 10 minutes playing in it because it was thick material that held a gallon of water when you sweated or it rained
Can't salute yer can't find a flag if that don't suit yer that's a drag
