.... was as easy as selling them.
Oldham waited a year to sign Allott. I hope we arent waiting that long for a proper replacement.

I notice Notts County have signed another midfielder today.

They really do seem to be recruiting some players this Summer.

Funny thing is though, i remember hearing a report on Radio Nottingham saying how financially challenged they were towards the end of last season. Have they had someone bankroll them recently?

Wish we had a new investor...

Well its obvious Rico is having a problem recruiting the right midfield players, probably more difficult than he had envisaged. If he is after Navarro he will only get him if Ince doesnt want him.

Not sure if this is relevant but there main benefactor passed away recently

Notts County fans worldwide will today be thinking of the late Haydn Green, without whom they would no longer have a club to support.

In 2003, at the club's lowest ebb, with players making bucket collections and even Forest players putting their hands in their pockets, one man had the vision to make things safe - once and (literally) for all.

That man's name was Haydn Green. Until many months later, even the supporters of the club were kept in the dark about the identity of the secret saviour of the world's oldest professional football club.

No glory-seeker, no egotistical 'self made man'. Haydn Green simply wanted to secure the future of the club of which he was such an avid and ardent supporter over the years.

With three million pounds of his own money added to the pot, the club's future was assured, with the shares being sold to the supporters' trust soon afterwards.

Haydn Green was only 60 years old, the club 145, but he deserves now to be recognised as one of the true greats associated with the Magpies.

The guy Peterboro released/transferred to Notts County does seem like a useful player, though not someone to set a game alight ... I know we need squad members, and that's what Notts County appear to have done, added depth to their squad. Peterboro fans were fine with him leaving, seeing him as a spirited, but limited player ... maybe in the same light many see Gaz Davies. That seems to be the issue in League Two ... spirited, but lacking in match turning quality. To bring in someone like that will take alot of work ... hopefully Rico'll do it!

 We aint got the clout to attract the better players unless the deal is exceptional. The likes of Lester,Fletcher,Gray etc are here because they got a better deal than elsewhere. Now that the coffers are empty Rico will have a mountain to climb to attract any quality whether it be loan or permanent.Feel he has to settle for what we've got,for now anyway.
Many a good tune

I'm still believeing we'll bring in one good perm signing before the start of the season ... more would be nice, but I think Allott will be replaced by someone who'll be of a decent quality.
I think with the players who've already come in we look alot more attractive than many teams in League Two ... hopefully that, plus the backroom staff, will help swing a few minds in our favour!!

We will have to see on that one. Hope you are right but it is easy to dismiss clubs, not knowing a lot about them

It ain't dismissing other clubs ... there're obviously more attractive clubs and offers in this League than CFC, Peterboro, MK and Notts to name three I'd imagine would all be more attractive.
However most of the clubs in this League don't have the history or the reputation of CFC, and in terms of current players, Ward, Downes, Lester, Fletcher, Gray, Shaw, Niven, maybe Roche will all be players that anyone in the lower leagues will be more than aware of. Those things can all benefit us in terms of signings ... we aren't the most attractive, but we aren't the least by any means either.

History or reputation probably does not come into it . But Money does
