3 games in and we have not looked in any danger of losing a game of football, disappointing to throw away 2 points yesterday but this is going to be what it is now we are a damn good team and just not going to get things our own way
We have quality all over the pitch with key players to return. My guess is that there will be at least 2 more additions this week and then some of the old warriors will be loaned out
Good start unbeaten and lots of positives
In Cook we trust

Agree with all of that. A big compliment to our team is how both away teams have setup against us so far. Both complete anti football and just trying not to lose as they know if they open up we will murder them. There will undoubtedly be ups and downs but we?ve got a great season ahead.

Also think we are crying out for a very very pacy striker, who can latch onto through balls.

They were great at Crewe. I agree we need a striker but not sure we play through balls!!

We've been missing Mandeville's set piece delivery, which is superb.

And after playing the beautiful football for which Cook's renown for much of the time.
Though that might be tempered by the knowledge our first three opponents are placed in the bottom five of the embryonic league table.
I don't think we've anything to worry about. The arrivals are all an improvement on what we had, Berry's announced himself in the EFL with confident strikes, we've proven quality in reserve or to return from injury whilst the squad will continue to evolve.
The Tairn fan in me who's had his knackers kicked by too much hope far too often would settle for ninth here and now.
However the bloke watching his lifelong club grow before his very eyes wonders if another special season might be on the cards...

Yesterdays goal was a sickener as it was so against the run of play and completely avoidable.
B+ is the grade from me.

I would argue that both goals against us would have been prevented if we had been as callous as the opposition we were playing and brought the goal scorer down at the earliest opportunity.

For me, it's important to remember that if we are going to challenge at the top this season (and based on how we've dominated all 3 league games, I can see no reason why not) there is going to be much more wiggle room for dropping 2 points here and there with the extra auto spots. In the NL you need to be near perfect to get out as champions, in L2 you don't have to be such a relentless winning machine.
Obviously we can't do it every game, but hopefully lessons are learnt going forward. Next few will give us a very good idea of where we are after we've played a couple of the other teams expected to do well.

At the time I was really peeved that Naylor had backed off so much for their goal, it felt similar to the Swindon goal in there not being a challenge put in. Looking at the highlights it doesn't look as bad I thought.
And Berry's goal came from lots of backing off from the tubby right back. Defenders are reluctant to commit in case they get done, but it ends up with the attacker in shooting range.

It's early days, but 3 games in and playing in a new division we are already demonstrating that we can compete and push the opposition. A lot of the new players are still establishing themselves in the side and we can look forward to a number of players returning from injury.
I think how well we've done so far can be measured by the lack of criticism from the unhinged section on here. Long may it continue!
