Given the endless complaints and infighting over race, politics, religion etc I think it's time to close this section of the forum and keep this message board to football only.

I would appreciate users views about this, so please vote and leave comments if you wish about this matter.

Poll now closed, personal section to remain

I voted yes to get rid of it. Kind of hypocritical because I use the personal section but as I have said before, it is a football forum for supporters/fans of Chesterfield FC, it shouldn't be a platform for hatred.

Correct me if I am wrong. The reason the personal section was set up was to offer users a platform to make transport arrangements for away games and sell CFC memorabilia. It then went feral not long after.

I'm not sure but it's certainly grown into something that can quickly become toxic .

We have a separate for sale section and lifts to away games etc can be posted on Spireites debate

I'm happy to see the back of the political crap that just generally descends into rubbish but it'd be a shame to see it go fully as some of the stuff like the eating out thread, TV, music ones, car chat have generally been pretty decent and in the case of the eating out one quite useful at times.

Another vote for no to closing. If you don't like the political stuff don't read it. If you don't like what certain posters say, put them on ignore.

Just keep it to stuff you would say to someone's face and if it's illegal, you are out.

No to closing the good places to eat thread that's for certain! and no to closing the rest. If people are that easily offended then they have the choice to just not read it!

Voted no, it's a personal choice, if people don't like it don't visit that section, there's other threads on there that are useful, the places to eat etc, maybe close down the politics threads and make it politically free.. ??

Leave it how it is. If it acts as a sewer by keeping inappropriate stuff off the football section, then good.

Just wondering how many of the yes votes are from people who hardly ever use the board. Not possible I know but it would be good to know the names of the people who voted

Same here. Rampant hypocrisy on my part as I post on it quite a bit but I have been trying to ween myself off it with intermittent success; sadly I'm like a fly round **** and eventually come back for more.

On the other hand I have some sympathy for Looker-on's statement "it acts as a sewer by keeping inappropriate stuff off the football section".

If you go to the top of the page to where the results are, click on the word view and it shows the names of who voted. I don't think it works on the mobile app so you would have to switch to IP Board. (Bottom left of the page).

And the infighting over race, religion, politics and one-upmanship continues. Its an embarrassment to the club.

It's an independent board and nothing to do with the club.
