Yeah Longeatonspire I watched the game last weekend and was impressed by the performance, much better than the dogshit one at Field Mill a fortnight before. All I'm saying is that a bit of humility wouldn't go amiss, but that is up to you. All this bertie big ballhocks hs done you no favours and is reminiscent of how the Luton mindset operates. It's far from becoming and actually counter productive.

There is a very good reason why Paul Cook said that we are a good side, as I've mentioned before, by saying a team are absolutely rubbish makes you look very foolish indeed when you fail to score one single goal in 180 minutes of league football. That is why he is a professional football manager and not a hapless internet messageboard punter indulging in wet dreams and fantasies.

Sir John is going nowhere.

I think it's incredibly unlikely, but our second half form is occasionally quite good.

What would you think of the unlikely event of a Spireites v Stags play off Birdie, considering you seem to be in quite a good mood, and more importantly don't have your caps lock button on?

Except Birdie, I have no idea how good or pants some of your players were on a weekend hence why I never comment on that particular issue.

This was actually a thread about Mansfield.

Young lady, just take a deep breath. Everyone does stare the other side of the motorway on the odd occasion...

Wooly, think your last point is one I would never agree with, however I would add you could also tot a further 90 minutes onto that so over three games the only time they have scored was from a dreadful defensive mix up.

Get the job done lads, and we won't be on here for some time.

But there are finger nails being bitten from Birdholme to Haslam, Newbold and beyond.

You know that, we know that...

It wasn't actually. Football can change very quickly. Lose tomorrow, we win. Not saying either will happen, but should they.

Then it may just be like watching an episode of Ever Decreasing Circles on BBC1.

For those of you who are old enough to remember it...

Apart from Rochdale we're capable of winning the lot.

Ask me in 24 hours and 15 minutes Josh, as I said football does, and will always change very quickly.

Skatmanjohn - if you win every game apart from Rochdale you still wont make the play offs.

I've said it's a long shot, that's all it is. We've only got 9 points to make up, so you can't say that.

As for Scatman John... do you mean the old American chap from the mid 90s?

Who once "rapped"

"If part of the solution isn't ending the pollution..
Then I don't want to tell your story told, I'll welcome you to Scatman's wold"

Or have I just had too many beers this afternoon.

Gotta love all these defacto statements regarding MTFC from you esteemed football pundits and financial wizards.

Just like how we were definitely going to get relegated this season and you only had to put any old team out to beat us. That we should have the temerity to even bother turning up at all, what with you being soooo much better and all that.

We saw how those predictions turned out didn't we boys?

Remember for all that money you've splurged out this year (and your own debt, hello Dave) that not being promoted would be a hammer blow. Looking at the recent away form table earlier it read that Spires were in 18th. Hardly promotion form is it..?

Things might not be so rosy for you in the near future either. Bottom six of league 1 or playing us again next year? Big Wow.

One of us looks like going up, one does not

One of us has debts that are part of a structured repayment plan, and one does not.

One of us has gates in the top 3, and increased off field revenue streams, one does not.

One of us look like playing derby matches against Sheffield United and Barnsley, with some other well supported teams in the division and one does not.

while things could always be better, I know which side has the brightest future

A new hope.
