I wouldn't have contributed to this thread unless I genuinely felt there was a point to make.

I've made it now.

Oh, I get it, I can come back on derby day, because hundreds of you will then visit Stagsnet.

I get your point, seriously "Power", but what wonderfully crafted irony.

Don't you think over 1300 posts in 4 months is a little odd.

Novelty factor "Italian blue", nothing more, nothing less.

10 posts a day, probably five minutes typing time. I'm sure there are much bigger wastes of time than losing five minutes a day. Having a typing speed of 90 wpm does help...

Multiply that by 20 and I might start to believe you

It is actually bizarre behaviour that you need to address

Depends on the context Frank.

http://www.wordhippo...color_blue.html

Unless I'm mistaken the Italian national side are known as the "Azzuri", in the same way they nickname clubs after the colours of their shirts.

Fiorentina - "the viola" (the purple/s)
Juventus - "the biancaneri" (black and whites)
Roma - "the giallorossi" (the yellow and reds)

and even Verona (NOT Chievo).

"the giallazzuri" (the yellow and blues) - what a great club :-)

I once dated an Italian for a few years and when she bought a new pair of blue shoes she came home and said "ahhh. che bella. Azzurrate, azule.."

I wasn't entirely wrong here.

Blimey that response took you less than 11 minutes, good considering you had to do all that googling (but sadly still got it wrong)

Anyway I am doctor and I have diagnosed you as a bam pot, you must seek further medical advice for a second opinion

If you don't take my advice it is only going to get worse

Oh dear, some of you don't really know me do you? 11 minutes, what about if I made a cup of tea in that time? :-) What about if my Italian is actually quite good?

I never came onto this board expecting to be liked, why would I? I know a handful of Spireites personally, all of whom are decent folks, but that's probably my limit.

Think that last comment is poor, some may have genuine illnesses and take it personally. I'm not one of them, but some may, and it's not a joking matter.

Muito bêm. Estou impressionado.

My Portuguese is terrible, although it does annoy me when people pronounce this name

"Ronaldo"

as "Rolan" "dough"

The Portuguese "o" is a much more rounded vowel, hence it's "Ronal" "doo".

You'll have to wait for a few more months for this. Leo(nardo) will confirm this during the WC if the Beeb have him as a pundit again.

why a capital "P" and why no article before "Portuguese". "o meu português" surely?

Anyway, this has been quite amusing and perhaps more importantly has lightened the tone, but it's time for bed.

I won't be on tomorrow as I also have a game to attend in the evening.

Bye for now...

Perhaps your Portuguese is better than you think, still your Italian is incorrect Azul is not Italian for Blue, Fat Frank was quite correct

It's bad Warwicks, seriously bad. I can order food and ask the odd question, that's it.

We're confusing blue with "royal blue" here. I'll admit to being partly wrong, but not entirely.

Both points were valid, including Lampard's.

Night night...

I'm not confusing anything Luke, you maybe.
Azul and Azzuri may have the same origin in Latin but to my knowledge and I will stand corrected Azul is not a word used in the Italian language for the colour blue.
As I said before you will argue black is white it appears!

Has he gone? Phew!

Warwick, I think you are engaging in a discussion with someone locked in a fantasy realm. He thinks he is only spending 5 minutes per day on this board for god sake :) Must admit he is very quick with google translator, pity he hasn't used it to convert the colour blue in Spanish and Portuguese yet (or for that matter Italian)

Anyone who spends hours every day on a message board of a club he doesn't even support is best avoided. Hard to resist I admit, as I have found out.

I know, I just can't leave the temptation when he gets things factually incorrect, I really must try harder to resist!

I know you have already been corrected but as your reply was to me here goes the Italian for sky blue is azzurro in no "context" is the word azul used in Italian.
