Presenters who host football phone-ins tell me the worse things are at a club, the more folk wanna talk about it.
Thankfully we're doing well, on most levels, so it's no real surprise if this forum is experiencing some sort of silly season.
If that's the price of success long may it continue, say I.
What I'd also say, though, is that the likes of 'trollmanluke' are probably turning folk off, too. I read through threads and find points worthy of reply, however he suddenly appears with his half-baked and denial-laden twaddle invariably making them about him or his little club. We're then faced with a dilemma: contribute and offer him a platform to peddle more attention seeking gibberish or leave them alone to perish?
And as he hijacks just about every thread he's effectively killing off reasoned debate.
I welcome fans of any and every club if it's to take part in a balanced, grown up discussion. Unfortunately we've some on here currently who've absolutely no intention of doing that.
That's rubbish Roman. I haven't openly commented on a Chesterfield issue for several weeks now.
They're not half baked denial laden twaddle, they just happen to be what I believe. Considering most of your opinions with that basis were on a thread about Mansfield, that seems a somewhat bizarre comment to milk.
I will however agree. When a team's doing well, a messageboard is empty, flat and like a ghost town. When not doing so well, it's quite the opposite.
The rules of a democratic society are simple. If you don't like what it is written make your point (which you always do) and if you don't like the response, then simple. Like it or lump it.
I don't know you personally, but you seem a decent chap. If you could actually tell me what the real issue is I could probably fix it pretty quickly, but it would appear some of you just don't like the fact I support Mansfield, and that would appear to be the problem. Sadly if it is, I can't change that.
