Reading it, they've banned people from all sorts of things on the basis of something they've potentially re-tweeted. A button press. It's about time one of the tabloids got this story!

Wonder if the likes of Ticknall, Lullington Park may be short of a few players next season...not sure there is much love lost between those few teams.

Do we know who initially tweeted whatever has caused this farce? And anyone who then retweeted?

Seen nothing yet or heard anything as to what has caused all this other than it being something about a photo joke of the Swarkestone end of season do. Had a search on twitter but suspect they've all been removed.

That's all I know as well. I don't think it would take Poirot to work out the content of the photo.

I suspect Poirot style work would be correct so we can probably take a guess as to why its getting all the attention it is.

I'm glad. It shows his character for me - determined to make amends for last season as it were. Should score shed loads against worse bowling.

Following on from Chanderpaul...Scott Elstone offered a contract whilst Ali Evans has left and Ben Slater hasn't been offered a contract currently.

The last couple of games probably cost Slater after he did well in a couple of games. He was apparently on a miserly deal so it doesn't suggest we'll be in the market for many decent players - unless they simply don't fancy him and this is another way of saying it.

It was a 2 year deal anyway and was paid in a lump sum, the budget this coming season will mean more money available with him being paid last season for 2 years if that makes sense. It was done that way hoping we stayed up so then we could get another major player in.

Some info starting to come out now regarding the twitter scandal in the DCCL...appears one lad, Gaz Young from Ockbrook, has ended up with a four year ban, two years of it suspended, following the first of the disciplinary hearings :-

Twitter porn picture cricketer banned

Another 6 or 7 also in line for bans as well.

Does beg the question whether this would be going this far if it was against any other club.

And to think the same thing happened in the final against Northants. Derbyshire won on wkts lost after the scores were level.

What odds would you have got on that happening in one match let alone two?

I hear Dan Redfern has joined Leicestershire.

Good luck to him - shame he didn't kick on so perhaps a change of scene will reinvigorate him?

Hopefully Uncle Geoff can use some of his contacts - got be good on and off the field.

On another matter, anyone else get the sense that The Australians are looking to firmly re-establish themselves as the most hated cricket team? At it again in SA.
