Was CFC 0 Mansfield T 1 a fluke - were we really so unlucky?
If CFC tries the same tactics do you expect a better result?
Or in the same old way if we've tried and fail once will 9.45pm on Tues herald a third consecutive defeat?
This thread assumes any notion of playing a second string team will now have been well and truly dropped.
During the course of a season squads/teams learn and adapt. I expect CFC has arrived at its first watershed - we need to move to Plan B, C ... etc.

Jeez not you again. Funny up until the loss to the scabs you were absent from the board. Do you ever come on here after a win to offer a little praise? I don't expect an answer from you

Put him on ignore. It's cathartic. Don't react it just encourages him and makes him go slightly hard.

The rules of the competition countermands this notion you blithering idiot!

Go there and play exactly the same way as we have all season. If we lose then PC might look at the situation.
If we win will you come on here with the questions and the team reshuffles that you no doubt will do if we lose?

It was said by an even greater General than Rommel - the Duke of Wellington after Waterloo.
I like to find fault with you now and again. I can't disagree with anything else in your post, mind, but you won't find PC changing tactics, especially if Doyle can keep on finding the net.

If plan B or C is lump it and hoof it football then I for one hope we stick to the principle of playing football. It's ok for RPL to say change the tactic he doesn't watch it

I don't give a **** about the JPT . If Cook needs to use it as a game to test formations and players that's fine with me.

Assuming the terrain, tactics and operational request was the same. Not sure a game at failed mill will see the same defense in depth and defensive tactics employed. You might see a defensive rear guard action followed by a counter attacking pincer movement from the flanks employed by general cook

That's exactly the way I see it. The chances are we will need what we gleam from this practice match for use later in the season and I'd rather it be in the jpt than 3 points.
If all Evatt's needing is match fitness and learning to adapt to this level again (Hird last year anyone?) then get him in, no matter how embarrassing it may be, local pride or not!

The league will always be a priority, but Tuesday matters to me and I want to leave Mansfield on Tuesday night with us in the draw for the next round, I can't bare losing to them again, especially. We have a squad capable of having a decent run in cup competitions and at the same time gaining promotion to league 1, and I'm sure Dave Allen would think the same. IMO we have to field our best available side in every competitive game we play.

It's them and they've just beat us, we're taking as many tickets as they can sell us, and above all of that we've got yesterday to put right.
