Ive not been today (glad really am gutted at home but at least ive not spent 100 quid on a day out).Perhaps the one good thing to come from todays result is that hopefully it has reduced the aura somewhat from our side and teams will maybe now think that they can get at us. In the long run this might just play into our hands and make games more 'normal', especially at the Proact where teams don't just come not to get beat. We were never going to be the invincibles - a point next week and a couple of rousing home performances with Robbo back in the fold and this will be dismissed as a freak.

I think yesterday is an eye opener. Players like Roberts have been saying sooner or later we are going to hammer someone, I think the players thought yesterday was that day, but it was really that Morecambe started the game so poorly, they couldn't string a pass together in the opening 20 mins, but then as the half went on they started playing some fluent passing moves on the floor, we came out 2nd half thinking we were gonna get another couple of goals when in actual fact they came out with a desire to get back in the game, and the early goal completely knocked us for 6 and left us a shambles and unable to cope with their desire to get something out of the game. With players unavailable the only options Cooky had to change things were players who have barely played this season and their lack of pitch time showed, that along with Edwards out of position.

I think the players were thinking we were gonna hammer someone soon, and forgot that we need to be at our best every minute of every game.

It's been said many times before but we simply cannot play well against big, strong, physical, ex non league type outfits like Morecambe, we usually fail to beat them (last season at the globe was an awful game), yesterday proved despite having skilful, smaller, players who are good at retaining possession and pleasing on the eye we struggle to adapt our game to suit others styles, like we so often have in the past.

Yesterday reminds me of when you're a kid and playing someone who's better/worse than yourself and one starts a game off with say a 5 goal lead to give the other a chance of a win, Morecambe gifted us 3 goals, and then still managed to beat us by playing their own game which we were unable to counteract.

Time for our players to get their feet back on the ground and keep them there, and not get carried away with our amazing start. We can't afford to go on a winless run like teams often do when they have previously gone on an unbeaten run.

We're too good not to go up imo. I didnt rate Morecambe at all. They had nowt to lose at 3-0 and gave it their best shot and were helped massively by a soft goal immediately after half time. They became inspired and it was at that point we had to get tighter but we got worse and worse, and despite creating chances we were generally disorganised. O'Shea's chance would have killed it but taking him off seemed a mistake as the subs just added to the chaos.

We are good but the players need to realise that other teams wont just lay down and die. They need to graft and learn how to deal with teams at this level and the different styles they will use to counteract us. At the end of the season top three is our aim but lets stop believing it will be a stroll in the park it wont be.
