I agree you cant judge Evo on one game. Having now seen the goals he didn't look culpable for any apart from maybe the first and even then Ellison ghosted in on his blindside - was nowhere near as bad as has been suggested.

Not saying that Evo was at fault as I didn't go to the match. Just saying Cooper/Hird let 4 goals in 9 matches and Evo/Cooper concede 4 in one game. PC should not have tried to fix something that was not broken

The thing is something was broken namely Drew is injured so it was either move Hird to right back and bring Evo in or put Tendayi at right back and maybe start Devit. Maybe PC made the wrong choice but I would say giving the club captain a chance was the right choice.

Having not gone yesterday, I'm struggling to understand this talk of us collapsing, it's certainly not a characteristic of the side I've seen this season.
I think I've made my position clear regarding the partnership of Hird & Cooper, it shouldn't have been touched, but that change doesn't really explain yesterday's scoreline.
At home, I've noticed Cook tell the players to ease off & calm the game down at times, were we guilty of that from the off in the second half?

Fishini. If he'd not put Evatt in and we had lost the match you would've been posting up along with dozens of others that he should have been included. You know it.
Hindsight = criticism.

Of course he would and Evatt would be making his debut on Tuesday night.
Talbot brings more than just his ability, he brings balance, but no way does that explain the shambles that occurred
As it happened with a massive dollop of hindsight straight swap (Darikwa for Talbot) might have been better,

I don't know what was said at half-time but it seems to me that we came out thinking the game was won and not to make sure it was. They got 2 fairly quick goals which, after having a blatant penalty decision go their way after out third goal, encouraged them into thinking it could be their day - and it was.
Clearly, we messed up big time, but not down to Cook's initial team selection more to do with a lack of professionalism in not seeing the game out.

You make a good point though it doesn't mean that all ex players are going to turn out poor, but I can see where you are coming from.
Again, not saying it's Evatt's fault, but to answer the hindsight problem I was shocked at watching Evatt in the Notts highlights and Cook watched the whole game, so either I saw Evatt's worse bits or Cook got it badly wrong.

Out of interest what makes cooper untouchable in all this?
Isn't there an option 3 of hird and evatt?

Cooper and hird have been a solid CB pairing in a team that's conceded only 4 goals in 10 games and blitzed its way to the top of the league. IMO, this makes them both untouchable.... Doesn't matter if we've got John terry on the bench, you don't break the partnership if you don't have to.

Nothing at all I suppose other than he the best CB at the club and when playing with Hird we conceded 4 goals one of which was a penalty so only 3 from open play. Why change Hird and Cooper to accommodate a slightly over the hill Evo. PC has signed young Brown as CB cover I would much prefer to see him learn his trade rather than Evo playing his career to an end

There you've dared to say it. And its what I have been thinking. Certain folk have banged on about bringing back Evatt, a player who hasn't played first class football for nearly a year, to replace a man on top of his game, who formed part of a defence who had conceded four league goals.
Last time I saw Evatt in a live match on TV, he looked rather slow, and he aint going to get any quicker. The hope clearly is that his experience and ability to read a game will get him through, but I don't see it as a given. Meanwhile, for me, its back to Hird and Cooper next week.
