The journey home has allowed me the time calm down so I can be a bit more rational with my thoughts.

First half weathered the early storm and the predictable ariel bombardment (with Ellison fouling) that is par for course with our visit to the Globe Arena. We then settled into our (Ellison still fouling) and quickly established a three goal lead thanks to super movement and clinical finishing (Ellison still fouling). Half time came and all was well with the good ship CFC.

What then unfolded over the next forty five or so minutes was SO ridiculas that the only saving grace for us is that is it surely cannot happen again.

Within two minutes we gave them hope by giving away the softest of goals. They sensed blood and went for the throat. They rattled us (Ellison still fouling) and what for me was a huge dissapointment we failed to show enough character to pull through. Poor decisions and mistakes followed one after another (Ellison still fouling) and it was almost inevatible hen they got the fourth goal and what turned out to be the winner.

Even the Manager made a poor substitution when bringing on Edwards(Ellison still fouling) and I would not have taken off O'shea as he still looked like he could create something.

The game ended with Ellison smashing the ball into the crowd at the final whistle and then goading our bench before gleefully running down the tunnel.

If I live to be a hundred a will never see the like of this again, it was farcical, disgusting, pathetic, bewildering and above all plain wrong!! I am talking of course about the fact Kevin F!!!! ELLISON NEVER EVEN GOT BOOKED!

However we have a great chance to right last weeks wrong on Tuesday and I fully expect a positive reaction from these players next week at Fleetwood.

We have not become a shambles overnight PC will have learnt loads today. As the old man said to me its CHARACTER BUILDING if nothing else.

For all those people wanting to slate us tonight, hold fire (and yes this is somebody who went today) look at the bigger picture, remember the many good times we have had already this season and don't forget this one thing

wasn't there, was it panic do you think? o'shea seems to be the standard substitution regardless of the scoreline.

He was. Edwards, Devitt and, later Porter did nothing to change the pattern of the second half. First half we could have had 6. It was a walkover. Morecambe had lots of corners but never looked like scoring. They had one good chance and Lee saved well. At half time the talk was about how many we would score. The PA guy called to the home fans to get behind their team just before second half kicked off and there was a muted response. They knew they were in for more of the same. Then, a minute later, what looked like a mistake by Evatt let them in and the whole mood changed. The players were suddenly lifted, they had belief and the crowd got behind them. O'Shea missed a great chance to make it 4-1 which I reckon would have deflated Morecambe and sealed the win. I think it was 3-2 when Doyle turned well to create an opening but, , not wanting to miss out on a hat trick, shot and hit the post with two players waiting for a square ball to make it 4. But in truth at 3-2 we had lost the plot. There was little cohesion in the passing, little appetite to be first to the ball and battle, and the game was only going one way. I was shocked when I saw the attendance in that the noise made by only 1500 home fans was remarkable. The reason Morecambe won was that they wanted it more. Its hard to believe but thats the way I saw it. We were much more direct in the first half than previous games, always looking for the ball over the top of the defence, and not over-playing it, and it paid dividends. After the game the ex Rochdale and Accrington manager, Coleman, said on BBC Radio Lancs that Morecambe had exploited slow-turning central defenders.

3 - 0 up after half an hour and we weathered an early storm sorry but i think Morecambe weathered that storm,i have been asked what went wrong, well for what my opinion is worth, all we needed to change was McSheffery for Roberts,ok a problem was Talbot and this proved how much we missed him today so we had to reshuffle the side around and bring in Evatt and i am sorry,Evatt wasn't match fit he should have been introduced in the Mansfield game,he should have been taken off at half time,i am not blaming Evatt for this defeat.

How on earth do you capitulate in a game you were commanding,i have sat on the coach back over the Pennines scratching everything i possess in trying to find that answer and i still cannot answer it properly,we need to find a solution and very quick because throwing a 3 nill lead away is just not acceptable,we won todays game then threw it away just like that....oh and anyone that says Doyle isn't the answer he is the only one than can say oh yes i am and i scored two goals today to prove i can do it....

I think Cook, smarting from the Mansfield defeat and determined to gain revenge on Tuesday, wanted Evatt to have a game under his belt before the jpt contest. I cant see why Evo should have been subbed at half time, we were 3 up and coasting. As you say, we didnt lose just because of Evo.

Ellison was goading Cook who had to be physically restrained from whacking him.

We should do the same to him when he comes to the Proact. Keep on his back and try to wind him up. Nothing would give me more pleasure than to see him sent off and us getting our revenge for yesterday.

I said as much from watching the Notts highlights. It stood out like a sore thumb to me, so you have to question Cook for bringing him in for a league game when he's quite clearly not ready. Having said that I would include him for the Mansfield game if it's match fitness he needs as we are sure going to need him over the course of a season, so we need to give him another game (though the jpt should have been his first imo). We all make mistakes and Cook will have learnt a lot about his players/ player positions/ tactics and his own calls yesterday. It could be said that Cook has made two errors in two games in a row that both cost us, but that's football and in Cook I trust. We just need to look at the bigger picture that's all.

Haha, saw that on the Player highlights... For a moment I thought he was going to do a Brian Clough (when he clobbered his own supporters). In fairness to Cook he probably would have done if he hadn't have been restrained, lol
