A scabby crap team we discount
Their debts do seemingly mount
Theres bound to be trouble
And a burst of their bubble
If he ever displays the account.
Guess I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue!

THE BALLAD OF MANSFIELD TOWN

It's fun to keep some tabs
on Mansfield's dribs and drabs;
they players they signed, made water of wine
as mobile as hackney cabs.

They used to be in the league
'til managers got fatigued;
77 years, ended in tears
results were blitzed by a krieg.

So then they fell through the floor
we thought for evermore,
but back they came, improved their aim
and sadly they found how to score.

They're good at stacking the back
when they're at the Proact;
then grabbing a goal to savage your soul,
'cause somehow Town were slack.

But here's the point of my rhyme
the season's a different clime
with heavier weather and pressure forever
they're in for rainier times.

I call to witness today
for they were taught how to play
to act the fool, against Hartlepool
is hell that comes to pay.

I'm not going to fret,
nor will I cancel my bets;
your job isn't done, with one day in the sun,
there's a long way to go just yet.
God is not obliged to keep the promises of mankind

You really could not make it up
You'd think that they'd won the World Cup.
A fluke goal from their hoof
made their fans raise the roof
as if they're a team on the up.
Their joy didn't last very long
Hartlepool made them run out of songs.
They could not play better
or handle the pressure
So it's back to their six fingered self pleasure.

Whichever way you turn your eye
It always seems to be awry.
Pray, can you tell the reason why?
The only reason known of weight
Is that the thing was never straight.
Nor know the people where to go
To find a man to make it so;
Since none can furnish such a plan
Except a perfect, upright man;
So that the spire,'tis very plain,
For ages crooked must remain;
And while it stands, must ever be
An emblem of deformity!

Quite Good, TBH, but needs a title.
