I hope we pull this off. What an achievement it would be after looking dead and buried for the majority of this season.

Whatever happens it will stand the squad in great stead for a quick return next season and hopefully a better fist of it in D1 next time around.

Personally I'd love to see Notts dragged into the bottom 2, would make it all the more sweeter.

So are we odds on to stay up now or is it still unlikely?

Odds against I would think.

Certainly given ourselves a big chance now and pleasingly a lot of local young lads contributing. Surrey have a difficult run in and will struggle to get anything from their current game.

Speaking as a Yorkie I hope you do stay up and send Notts down at the same time. It's just a pity it looks like the Lanky lot are coming straight back up.

Notts and Surrey to drop would be the perfect scenario.

Unfashionable little Derbyshire staying up. I'm sure Mark 'Knobber' Nicholas would have summat to say about.

He'll be demanding a change to the points system, negative points if you lose or something

A win next week at the Oval will do nicely

Listening to the cricket on Radio Derby and Radio Solent who are sharing the commentary appear to have brought their village idiot

Babbling on, trying to be funny and can hardly string a sentence together.

Must be an ex player?

Alan Mullally apparently!

He was on when we played them at their place and he pretty much spoilt the commentary.

An absolute twohat. Thought the Derbyshire commentator was very calm as Mulhally ranted on about Hampshire

Even the Hampshire co-commentator sounded tired of him

However apparently he is a big character down on the South Coast

Generates loads of complaints from what I am told; BBC Solent seems to think it is smart to have people turning the radio off in frustration

Looks as though there will be a bit of turn at the Oval in the 4 day game. Gronewald replaced by Wainwright rather than the returning Palladino.

Not a good day and I suspect we'll be playing catch up from this point. Without either Groenewald or Palladino the bowling attack looks very inexperienced.

Meanwhile in Scarborough, thank god for the Convict/Black Cap partnership! Pushing us towards a draw!
