Great News ! Well done CFC , at long, long last lets hope we now have the chance of a decent defence.

(Yes indeed right-back and Talbot being the ill-fitting first choice is the weak link, but one which, thanks to Talbot's shear effort,
I think we can be good enough to go up with, though I hope a proper RB will arrive before return to the third flight!)

EVATT BACK THOUGH ! Come on the Blues!

Agreed, though for this league he's more than good enough (same goes for Rico) and combined as you say with his effort he's up there with the best for this division; though effort is not enough alone for the league above and that was one of our big mistakes last term (edit: sorry the one before). Still would be good as a squad player though, but its one position we've got to nail next term; that and a striker that's comfortable with the lone role (especially against a far better class of defenders). Listen at us lot talking as though we are promoted already

IF these two are our weakest links then.. bring it on I say!

Whats this I can see about him running up and down the left wing? - Seems to be a recurring comment amongst some of the blackpool fans posting

They seem to be unaware of his status with us because of his previous spell with us.
God I hate this league.

The one I liked was when somebody put he's too good for league 2 and got a reply "so are Chesterfield this season"

Comments like these tell me otherwise

"He's going home".
"He's STILL got family in Chesterfield".
Ëvo was different class at Chesterfield".
'Can't believe he's dropped right down, but probably the only team he'd go to in that League"

I think he was in midfield when he signed for us and was then converted to CB, so that perhaps explains the left wing twinkle toes forays

Too right, we have always seemed to have a good relationship with Blackpool in my time, always remember the Jonathan Douglas goal at the old Bloomfield Road to keep us up, the game we both went down and the Blackpool fans invading the pitch to come over to us, with us all chanting we'd be both be straight back up the following season (and we were).
"Do you think I'm here for your amusement" & good riddance to bad rubbish

We followed each other up and down the 2 bottom leagues for over 10 years but things got soured when Brown got involved. After they they got promoted from League 1 and we went down, we haven't been close since (league wise), seems time has healed things a bit on the "Cheaterfield" stakes.
Guess I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue!

The Blackpool nuns were a laugh, tho there were some bitter exchanges during the Rivals.net heyday between us, Blackpool, Brighton and Hull fans - all of the others went on to bigger and better things, now it's our turn!

I'm looking at the probable first team line up and I think the weakest link is... Talbot, maybe Richards! If these are our 'weak' areas I'm very happy indeed. I suspect most teams in the division would love either of those players.

What a squad Cook has assembled. Well done to Cook, Turner and Allen et al for helping to make it happen.

We have a very strong squad on paper. I just hope they perform to their potential.

Here we go again. Season not started and already we are dissing players. Astonishingly, Drew Talbot, a quality player and perhaps one of league 2's best players continues to be targeted. I despair sometimes.

I didn't read this as dissing our players, more like 2 very good players in our side are slightly below the standard of the rest like saying Ronaldo is not quite Messi.

Dissing? Not at all, Frears. Maybe using the words 'weak'/'weakest' gave the wrong impression.

My point is/was our team looks so strong that if you were to consider which is our weakest position it is covered by someone like Talbot, who I rate, or Richards who is a proven goalscorer at this level. It is a great position to be in for CFC.

We have had some great "teams" in the past but this looks like the strongest "squad" we have ever had, injurys apart every position has strong cover. Hope Im not getting carried away when I say we could go up with record points total. #Excited!
