Fish, you are now a positive ray of sunshine and we would never describe you as negative these days...

Other than blind faith, how can people be 'sure' the medical went well and he is over his injury?

We have seen ourselves, good players return to full training seemingly over similar injuries, but none have made it back to their former selves, performance ise.

The club are being ultra cautious, and rightly so, and no one will be more pleased than me if he does sign, but without knowing his medical history, his injury details, his surgery report and his rehabilitation program, I don't have the faintest clue whether he's likely to pass or not.

I'm just sat, fingers crossed.

I guess the clubs (or Allens) recent experiences of giving injured players contracts he wants to be 100% sure.
A new hope.

Maybe he will be on less per week but more per appearance and clean sheet bonus if there is a small doubt over his knee. Remember what cook said about the amount of basic wages the players were on.

Was a discrase, or words to that effect
Here we go again!

Evatt always used be favourite of mine in the betting stakes for 1st goalscorer, get a corner pretty early and you always had a chance with Evatt powering a header into the back of the net.

Been doing a bit of research......Ian Evatt played 84 times for the Spireites and scored 9 goals, will he be adding to these totals, sometime tomorrow we may find out......

Remember Ugarte who played for Wrexham and scored all 4 goals in a 4 - 2 win at the Rec,Evatt scored one of our goals that day....

His last goal for the Spireites came in a 2 - 1 win at London Road,Peterboro on 11th December 2004....

Apologies i read it wrong way around his last goal came at home to Oldham on 30th April 2005...

He's signing....

I had a dream last night, and he did.

Mind you, I also got booed by thousands at an indoor football tournament cos Gareth Bale had moaned to the officials that I was trying to break his legs in time for the new season.

When I got called into the officials office,it was a workshop and I got moved to another court away from Bale, by my old bosses at Adis.

Make of that what you will.
Mug?? Being wrong never gets boring!

Haha I had a similar dream where Evatt signed and he helped us to the Fa Cup Final sadly we lost 1-0 to Man City and the ball didn't even go over the line :(

I would hope that this will be confirmed tonight at the fans forum. If not an official announcement, everything but!

We all seem to be putting alot on this signing and I have too gone along with the wave of euphoria that this news has bought. But we must bring this all back down to earth and remember the task Cookie has at hand this season with the squad he has. We will not win this league just because Ian Evatt and the others have signed for our club. Things look very good indeed for us atm and I'm really buzzing at the prospect of the coming season. But take a step back and support the ALL the team from day one in the bad times (and there will be a few) as well as the good. COYB!!!!!!

Playing Devils advocate:

What if the medical wasn't conclusive, and the club want to carry out further tests today, to satisfy the insurers?

Just a thought.....

I see where your coming from but if he doesn't get us promoted this season with the players he has been given the budget to sign and the players he has at his disposal then I'm afraid the only support he deserves come the end off the season if we are to start 2014/15 in this god awful league will be a support carrying his bags to his car.

The pressure is on the whole club, the Board/Major Shareholder/CE have backed the 'new' management team massively and this season could well have a legacy at at this football club for the next 10 years, one way or another!!
