Now, is it 47-1 or 47-2. Sounds like Wessels took a bit of a battering.

On other shores, looks like the bigots are now top of the league. Deep joy.

Looks a good low catch by Hughes to get rid of Cowan....who had hit three boundaries in the over already...

This appears to be the one that has done for Wessels...pinned by Footitt. No chance of him doing that to me when i faced him...i was no where close to being in line!! ;)

I know you didn't see us in anything like form but I reckon we've both half a chance of second. I expect Langley Mill to win the division but it's quite open after them. We've resigned a couple of lads who went to Matlock in the winter so that should strengthen us.

Not played there in twenty years for Baslow U13s. How did you get on?

Lot could be decided over the holiday period...unfortunately I miss a few in July and August and not sure what others are like. Also going to be interesting the next time we bat first which we've only done once this season so far.

It was obvious that your result at ours was a blip.

Yep since they got that second ground sorted its a very good setup and easy to see why they are a big club. Not many have a specific junior ground either. Thankfully they made the dressing rooms on the main ground bigger recently as they used to be a bit small. Got a couple of mates who play there in the prem. I've always done quite well on my visits until last season when I accidentally trod on the boundary rope, rolled my ankle and had to be carried back to the pavilion on the groundsmans buggy!!

I'd be surprised if Ashover don't get promoted this season. I know nothing about Langley Mill 2nds, but I'd be surprised if they are any better than the side Ashover are turning out. Good seam bowling unit and probably the best batsman in the lower leagues. Just needs some inspired leadership from Parkin.

Brilliant set up. Only played there once, but looking forward to going back there in a few weeks. Not seen anything to rival Denby as the complete cricket set up anywhere in Derbyshire. Only Spondon off the top of my head even comes close. Welbeck's new ground would probably pip Denby, but you'd excpect that with it being a new build.

Not sure about that mate. When you consider the whole package, grounds, facilities, outdoor nets area etc. There are nicer grounds, no doubt about it.

they have 2 grounds but changing rooms not big enough for that (2nd pich changing rooms are a portacabin)

half decent bar area (not big enough for 4 teams to have tea in really)

just nothing special about it

better grounds: (in my opinion)

Ockbrook
Sandiacre
Chesterfield
Langley Mill
Welbeck
Mansfield Hoisery Mills
Cuckney
Lullington Park
Elvaston
Staveley
and several more

I've never played at Lullington before, although I hear it's very good.

Some decent shouts there. I'm not much of a ground snob like some people seem to be, you struggle to be one when you play at Cutthorpe.

Still prefer Denby over most of those. The exception being the Notts sides actually. I'd forgotten about MHM, decent set up there as well.
