Staggered that we've not been awarded full points for this.
Only bonus is that we get to play the rearranged game at home rather than away and they have to cover all expenses of the game.
Add to this, we have a blank Saturday this weekend due to the late pull out of Belper Meadows 1st team, which I still think is a bit of a joke.
Least we're top of the league!

The problem with the dropping of first teams goes way back now to when the league let Stainsby Hall do it halfway through a season claiming it was the right decision and backing it up by saying how they gave up their bank holiday weekends to meet and discuss it and i think Langley Mill was around the same sort of time. Got a bit tetchy for a while but the marker was set and a few clubs have done it since. Personally i'm of the thinking that clubs should have to drop the lowest team and then find their natural level but the Mill decision in particular i think they had a first team in the top division at the time and the seconds were something like 7 levels lower and would have meant kids playing top level cricket which probably wasnt right.
We've got it this season as well with Pilsley dropping out late but fortunately it doesnt affect me to much. The home game later in the season drops when i'm on holiday whilst the first meeting was due to be second week of the season when it was wet and cold and the thought of having to go to play at Pilsley wouldnt have been very inspiring!!

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for playing more games, especially in an already shortened season.
Hypothetical situation 1:
Team has an upcoming home game that is crucial to their particular season. On the same day they are missing half their regular side and the chances of winning are slim to none. As a result, they don't do any pitch preparation knowing that the game will be replayed if the pitch is deemed unsafe for play. Part of the unprepared square is cut and marked just before the game and play starts. The ball does all sorts, a couple of people are hit and the umpires call a halt to the game.
As the precedent suggests, the game is replayed, albeit away from home and at significant cost, but the club in question is now at full strength and win batting first, taking home 27 points and who knows as a result, maybe promotion.
Hypothetical situation 2:
It belts it down all day on the date of the rearranged game. The game is cancelled/abandoned again and we both go home with 6 points. Therefore, certainly Cutthorpe are a distinct disadvantage as the original game being abandoned was the fault of Aston on Trent CC.
Be a shame if someone decided to use this decision to their advantage in the future.

To be honest with their history if anyone was going to try said trick it could well be them...this is the side that allegedly a bloke batted twice for wearing different kit and a helmet and started one season on -256 points after playing two overseas all the season before i think it was. They have been trying to clean up the club for a while now but the ringer stories surfaced again last season when some youth who had scored next to no runs all season suddenly whacked 100 off about 40 balls at Sandiacre!!

Failing to prepare a suitable pitch, in my opinion, could be bracketed with failing to raise a side.
You fail to raise a side. The opposition are awarded full points. You fail to prepare a suitable pitch. The game is replayed. Doesn't make sense to me.

on the pitch markings in the Derbyshire league, letting the away captain mark a pitch is a bit daft for games with umpires, I'd only let captains mark pitches when there are no umpires
too much scope for dummy spit marks, for example we bowled Darley Dale out for 62 at home a few weeks back, the pitch did nowt wrong, combination of good bowling and bad batting, both umpires mark the pitch at 90, away captain puts in a mardy mark of 80!
on the clubs dropping out their firsts, I'd be consistent with this and make it that if you want to drop a team then it is your lowest one, tough if the remaining players aren't good enough, your fault for bad running of the club and if you can't compete then fold the club, too many instances of clubs dropping the firsts and then hammering teams in the lower leagues for a few years pot hunting

I can see your point but does it leave it open for visiting teams to start making protests about the pitch if they wanted to and putting umpires in tough positions trying to get games called off etc. Making the game get played again but at the homes teams cost at the away teams ground seems a half decent compromise for a very unusual situation that shouldnt happen all that often. I can certainly not remember anything similar happening.

Dont have to tell me about dummy spitting marks...seen it happen plenty at the cross when folks didnt fancy coming to visit and had decided it was crap before they arrived then get beat and moan about the place. Plenty of clubs have done it over the years normally from places where a good pitch is one that doesnt bounce above shin high and batsmen can just plant their front foot and play round it. They then arrived at the Cross got balls that bounced hip high from back of a length and had no back foot shots to get them out of it.

Post the above and 10 secs later Ches is dropped by Samit Patel at 1st slip.
Next ball, another edge this time from Billy to Samit Patel and guess what happens... he drops it again.
First bit of luck all season.

my guess was your lot due to playing half a side of regular first teamers in the 2nds first game of the season
