The journos on Twitter think its a straight shot between him and Appleton. If the latter gets it we may trade leagues next season.

I think it's great news that Sheffield United are prepared to give somebody new a chance, that is if they choose Page. Whether it will work is a different matter but it would be good if somebody new jumped on the bandwagon of managers rather than the same old stale faces that jump from club to club.
However, if they go with Appleton then its the opposite, another stale face. And a useless stale face at that.

Lets not rule out the fact as well that if they go for Page its also partly because they cant afford many of the managers that both they and the fans really want!!

surely it would be better to appoint Wally Downes as manager and Page as assistant? Page has only been with the youth system at Port Vale but Wally Downes has been assistant manager in the premier league and the championship
