I played against them two years ago when they strolled to promotion and 'friendly' wasn't a word to describe them. One older guy who bowled a bit was friendly but the young lads who thought they were something special were tools. I can't be doing with it - I've always liked to have a chat and a laugh with the opposition on and off the field and anyone on the opposition who thinks they're above that can generally get ready for a bit of chat.

There's one chap we could do with getting out early as I think he's scored best part of 600 against us in four knocks!

Older lad is probably one of the Bailey brothers I think it is. They are ok, younger ones are utter prats along with a couple of older ones. Find very few around the leagues who like them and a friendly game there was probably the death of the follow on forum team after lads turned up for a laugh and basically got treated like crap, sledged, bounced etc.

Not Neil Wing is it that gets the runs? Big fat left handed slogger who opens the batting?

Yes that's him.

I think I exaggerated his runs v us but he made a mess of a poor bowling line-up here-

This makes you little better than the Rotherham and Mansfield fans that come on here on the wind up.

This is a CFC forum. CFC are based in Derbyshire, therefore go away you Yarksher goon.

;)

Agreed stick to your pudding forums if they are intelligent enough to start one up :windup

Dirty slogger that wouldn't get half the runs playing on a ground that had decent sized boundaries. Seems to have played first team so far this season however.

Wing has been in the 1st team. Wouldn't mind turning them over good and proper later in the season. We've got them at our place on 8th June.

Got the kit out the (damp) shed and it's not looking great. Thankfully my shirt and trousers were washed after the last game I played last season and have been safely recovered from my drawer. My bat hasn't faired so well - it's streaked with mould and with the damp has swelled in weight and size. It never brought me a deal of luck (the bat's fault obviously) so I won't miss it. Boots seem OK, hopefully the laces will stay in one piece when tied up.

By the way if anyone wants to go to the games at Derby midweek I have 2 season tickets, if you want them just PM me. They also get you in the members area of all the away games. Only time I will be using them is the week at QP due to work (so far)

May take you up on that mate. My kit passed the test at Langley Mill but we didn't sadly. Three balls I failed to get bat on at the end meant we didn't add to our 235 when I went in. They knocked em off in the last over after magically having three runs added to the total after one of the umpires overruled the scorers out of nowhere!

Amazing how umpires sometimes get involved. In out game a batsman got a warning for running on the pitch when I've never seen it done before at our level. We won at a canter although I only managed to bowl three overs before having to stop due to my back again.

It started with the Langley Mill captain strolling into the middle & speaking to one of the umpires. The scorebook doesn't even add up. Literally.

We were on the end of some interesting umpiring at Langley Mill once as fingers went up sharpish for LBWs and stumpings whilst we were batting. At times the umpire appointments dont add up...we rolled up to Belper Meadows once only to have two umpires of which one was the dad of the Meadows captain and the other was the Meadows groundsman and both had played for them for years. Now as it happens nothing happened that day but the league etc could have put themselves in a dodgy position with something that could have been easily avoided.

Not the worst ground in the world to spend a sunny evening and a good bar.

Bit early and cold in the season for me.

Just watched Yorkshire smashed round Headingley by Somerset. Special innings by Jos Butler.
