all bowlers are mardy buggers

fact

Yep....its great fun trying your knackers off and all a batsman has to do is plant his front foot and play round it safe in the knowledge the ball isnt going to do anything sideways or bounce. Folk go bonkers when a pitch offers to much assistance to bowlers yet claim its a cracking track when its flat as a pancake and offers all the help to the batsman.

Wicket at last.

Truly monumental innings & his place in the side is pretty much assured all season on the back if it I'd suggest.

Ahh, but do they use the heavy roller in league cricket???

Listening to the radio commentary in the office on BBC Radio Yorshire. The local commentator is of course Yorkshire through and through...

We have a road roller!

If it wasn't for Hughes and Madsen, Derbys' 1st innings would look pretty sick. Rooty to emulate Hughes with Jacques help tomorrow.

Different scenario how the others were batting though, looks like they had been told to get the batting points and Ches to just stay there. Anyway most teams scores would look sick if you take 2 of the top order batsman out the equation are you clutching at straws ?

I got that, a triple mower & a wicket cutting mower with some grant money when we were still Sheepbridge along with the shipping container it's all kept in. They're probably still looking for it all in Tibshelf!

First game for my lad for Alfreton tonight away at Ashover, let there be sun and beer for the watching dads!,,
After all winter of Saturday and Sunday morning football I'm really looking forward to tonight. U12 level as well so all get a bat and bowl!,
East stand second class citizen.

Do you start this Saturday? Annoying to have the first two weeks off. We've got a nice little trip to Aston.

Yep...finally get underway, injury permitting personally, this weekend at home to Selston. Bit frustrating that the Pilsley game was week after the first game was moved for whatever reason to a Sunday later in the season but there were actually only 3 games in 5N in total last week and the weather didnt help with those. Bizarrely despite the late start we will have played a game more than some towards the final weeks of the season as our game from 31st August is played earlier in the season on a Sunday...think its Alfreton away.

If you are off to Aston make sure to take some food to top up your tea if you get hungry!! Never a great spread there and not the greatest place in the world to play either....fortunately i missed the Cross's last trip there.

I played at Aston two years ago. You're right about teas, last time I got the last dregs of some sort of curry. It also rained on and off all day which made it even more of a delight.

Last year was rained off now i think about it, which was unfortunate, and the time before that i didnt play but they had a reduced over game after a late start due to rain then it rained off and on throughout the game but Cross nearly won defending 130 odd.

I try not to slate grounds to much but its not one of those places or fixtures that you look to pick out when the fixtures are released!!

Bairstow got to his hundred as well....barring a well possible Derbyshire collapse tomorrow it should be a draw.
