I must admit I find i an odd one.
Leam Richardson must really respect Cookie if he's willing to turn down the gaffers job to become the gaffers mate.
It's not the despair. I can take the despair. It's the hope I can't stand.

 Beattie to replace Richardson in a player/manager role perhaps?

John Coleman, surely. Looks a no brainer to me.

Check out this thread, note the tweet from James Beattie @post 4

Interesting career
http://en.wikipedia....Leam_Richardson

He isn't in the Sheridan mould, McFarland or Duncan, Crossley, Wright or even Rushbury...more Lee Richardson if that!

At this level, do we need people who have been in the premiership/ international qualities.

This is a risk involved, but I suppose he's the assistant. He obviously knows the game, is young and enthusiastic, and appears, according to tweets, to have the No. quality : Man management

Very young, but a fresh start. He is a Samouri warrior, so be careful

Useless fact: He's played against us 7 times with a record of 4 wins, 1 draw, 2 defeats (5 for Accrington, 2 for Blackpool)

I take it he has given up playing or will he be part of the squad?

He's also still registered as a player, right back

Interesting read, particularly this part:

"My favourite bit about Leam is that he is a very good talker during his after match interviews. He doesn't moan about referees, pitches, opposition tactics like our godly former manager. He doesn't spout a bunch of cliches, that he thinks the fans and media wants to hear, just like another more recent former manager. "

Sems their fans were impressed, generally, and any man who doesn't just resort to blaming refs for a loss is a good'un for me. I suppose the 'godly former manager' will be John Coleman- can I bet on him being next Accy boss? No idea who the other more recent manager might be......

No that is a complete mystery????

Report states is was a 2 year contract so we could be paying compensation?

I'd expect compensation will be a similar figure to what we paid Accy for Paul Cook.................

Why do I feel like I'm missing some crucial information here?

Sounds like he might also be our back-up right back. Cook refers to him not only as a coach, but as a player.

Guess that's one position filled in the squad.

Make that three if you include Shinner as backup LB and Jim Brown as backup GK.
These go to eleven.

To be fair though, he is only 33, and was a decent player.

At least we know that's an option if stuff gets desperate.

A lot less scary as a thought than it was having Crossley in the net.

I doubt he will play, they got Hunt in from Rotherham when they needed a fullback last season.
Guess I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue!

He's played once in two seasons, I don't think playing is what he'll be focussing on.
