Thankfully it's outnumbered by the Derbyshire related ones.

Got tickets for day 1 at both Durham and Trent Bridge. Suspect there won't be a repeat of the opening day I saw at the MCG a couple of years back but they are certainly there to be bashed.

Ditto.

Always something special about the first day of a series, especially an ashes series.

The Aussies do appear in disarray at the moment but our first innings in Dunedin showed what complacency can do.
Never underestimate the stupidity of people

There's a Ticknall one I think. There's the one you see everywhere England go that randomly pairs Derbyshire with Bromley too.

There was a few from my village went to Sri Lanka but it wouldn't have been them they are dirty blunts. I'm looking into a week in oz in the reverse ashes.

The strength of the Aussie dollar makes it a very expensive trip. Not that going all that way can ever be 'cheap' but you know what I mean.

You're from Creswell aren't you Shaun??

Not Rob Johnstone or Brett Doan was it?? Both Blades, but dunno if they follow the cricket as not seen either for years. Rob were a bit of a rum un, so probably not him.

We went to the Melbourne test in the last series over there and it was brilliant. That said bowling them out for 98 and then finishing 150ish for 0 at the end of the day probably helped. It's not that cheap these days but something I would seriously recommend doing. We flew over, travelled the great ocean road for a week, Melbourne for the test then a few days in Sydney. Saw a few from town in Sydney.

The McG is some sight, probably the best sporting venue I have ever been too. Couldn imagine how good it would be with 30,000 England fans in there on the urine. Was good enough when I was there for a state game.

4th day when we won there was about 30,000 n the ground, 25,000 English. Was some day!! Actual Boxing Day saw a crowd of 90,000+ with a similar amount of English, was something else!! It was that day I was stood outside the ground talking to a Melbourne friend of mine at lunch when out of the order of my eye I spotted a town shirt walk past. Didn't get a chance to speak to him but saw him again the following night in a bar and managed to talk to him then, turned out the be a chesterfield lad who now lives over there.

It was pretty good. That was before the final redevelopment too when the place had more character. The old pavilion was sensational.

I went to watch Geelong against Fremantle there a few years back it was amazing, pickoCFC even bought a drink so it must have been good, anyone that says Australia is cheap though is deluded I spent a fortune in 3 months when I came back from the Middle East but hey at least the tax man didn't get his hands on it.

Not really ever associated with the first 1 but I think he is no longer with us, Brett is still knocking about though and no I don't think either would have got into Australia.

Didn't know that Robbo had karked it. Doesn't surprise me though. We weren't the best of mates!! I was in HMP Nottingham with him, before I grew up, and we clashed severely.

Like I say, not seen either of em for ages, not that that's a bad thing!

When I was there it was cheap. The exchange rate was double what it is now, just over in fact. Now it's the Aussies here who feel like millionaires.

The exchange rate is silly now so it makes it an expensive trip. Wasnt so bad in my 6 months out there, Sydney is probably most costly than London but out of that it wasnt too bad, even Melbourne was alright.

Cracking rearguard action from Prior and Broad this morning...

Only the 3rd time a team has gone into the final day 4 down in a TM and got a result.

That's why I love Cricket. Anyone who doesn't get engrossed in summat like that, or calls it boring as many do, needs their head looking at.

Comedy Gold from Monty as well, stumbling over the threshold, getting off strike with the quick single. Looked like he'd shít himsen when he set off running!

Poor test series overall on England's part, but with the caution observed over Swanny and KP, it's clear the double header is the priority. A little bit disrespectful to NZ, but there you go.

Good stuff to get out with the draw but we haven't been great in the series. However I'm sure we'll bounce back over here....providing the weather sorts itself out!! County championship start in a couple of weeks and local cricket in 4 weeks!!

I'm expecting a comfortable defence of The Urn over here.

The Aussies are a total shambles atm.

Whether Mickey Arthur's disciplinary actions on Watson, Khawaja and co have a positive or negative effect remains to be seen. Thought it was strange that Watson was brought straight back in to captain the XI in the final test, in Clarke's absence.

It seemed to have little effect on their performance.

I wouldn't rule out a whitewash, then retaining them in the winter.

How I love seeing Cricket Australia in such a mess!! :D

The problem England have at the moment is that they don't seem have any players who can turn a game with a good session. We have plenty of stubborn batsmen who can grind out a draw but without a KP or a Flintoff there's nobody who can score a quick hundred or take 4 or 5 wickets in a session. Bairstow has had plenty of chances to shine but still doesn't look like a test match player. I'd be tempted to let Bell open with Cook and have someone like Alex Hales in at 6 so that we can accelerate in the middle order.
