Surprised to see Aaron Downes at the Club today. I'm assuming he's doing his rehab up here?

or the fact that Torquay are playing Accrington Stanley and using that as an excuse to visit Mrs Downes' family before going to watch the match????

Sligo won 5-0 last night without him, in the Setanta Cup (which involves both Eire and Northern Ireland clubs).

Ex spireite signs for spireites manager's ex club.

Jeff Schlupp who some were mooting as a potential loan signing earlier in the season "on the verge of joining Manchester United".

Guess we didnt stand much of a chance with him after all.

Awful news for Derek Niven. Gutted for him if he has to miss the game.

Fingers crossed for you Del. Some folks seem to get all the bad luck.

It now appears that the injury is not as bad as first feared. Initially it looked like he could be out for several weeks but a scan has shown that the injury is not as bad as first thought.

Just a quick update on our 2 other Ex-Spirites, Simon Ford has now gone on loan to Telford for the remainder of the season. He didn't really get a sniff of first team action and was only an unused sub very occasionally. He couldn't have been impressing our managers in training or the reserves.

Greg Fleming has only played twice for us due to the superb form of our No 1 keeper James McKeown, but on both occasions kept clean sheets.

Thanks for the update & fingers crossed for Del.

Despite Fordy being one of the best defenders at our Club last season, it looks like Sheridan was right not to renew his deal.
