Will Hyde be in action against any of our local sides any time soon?

No, i'd guess at a month on a youth loan so he can be recalled to move elsewhere should anyone come in to offer him a contract.

Chris Sumpter@chrissumpter80Coventry confirm signing of former #Scunthorpe loanee Leon Clarke on a two-and-a-half-year deal. Will do well for #SkyBlues, sure of it.

As he's dropped out of the league, league loan rules don't apply do they? Probably an open-ended deal at the minute.

Not strictly speaking an ex spireite but Hope Akpan who if i remember correctly was the player Sheridan wanted to sign but pulled out of the deal after the players agent started getting silly with demands and then went to Crawley instead has signed for Reading.

I think the issue was when his agent started to want payment from the club and Sheridan told him where to go, Crawley then went and met the deal or something and he went there. Evans may have still been manager there at the time.

I was only joking Jon, but there was definitely a long thread about us not paying agents fees and perhaps that we should, especially when we are getting a player for nowt.

It's all up to the manager and IF he thinks he's getting a real gem and it's only costing a few thou for the agent (and the board are okay with the deal) then you are silly not to pay a little and trust your own instincts when you haven't got a transfer fee to pay. Then again you can always waste it on inflated wages and bonuses on a run of the mill player, at the latter end of his career who is never going to make you any money :glare:

I suspected you might be. If I remember correctly folk felt that paying agents was ok if they earned it. From what I can remember of this deal it was all but done when at the last minute the agent wanted the club to basically pay him for representing the player.

Another not quite ex spireite but someone often mentioned on here as someone we should have signed. Ross Hannah has dropped out of the league again signing a permanent deal with Grimsby after a successful loan spell :-

Seem to remember Shezza getting a bit of stick for not signing him when apparently he was offered to the club. Well it looks like he was right.

I'm not so sure, he was sold by Bradford for a fee and has got himself a two and half year deal.

9 goals in 14 games whilst on loan for Grimsby who look a good bet to back in the league next season

Never really done anything in the league though so we will have to see if he can score goals for Grimsby should they go up. A few players have done really well in the Conference but then struggled in the league...likes of Darryl Clare.
