In the last couple of games Randall has been superb,at last he is beginning to consistently show his class.

You've use a key word. Consistent. One of the big problems with MR until very recently is that he's never had a decent long run in the side. I'll bet that given, say, ten consecutive starts, his consistancy would encourage a good many on here to eat their words.

Must say I for one am beginning to warm to Randall a litlle more, at last he is hungry for the ball and willing to chase back. I do wonder if Sheridan had told the team not to waste energy trying to close down and tackle, rather let the oposttion gift possession. And that Randall took that to mean, never never tackle or track back with meaning.
Seems different now though. However Randall has a lot to prove still.

I think JS said that to the whole team.
A new hope.

Seems many humble pies are being eaten right now. Where Randall and RPL are concerned. Indigestion anyone?

I'm eating them with pride and a smile on my face as far as Randal is concerned.

But RP..... nah! I don't think so.

The problem was he did very little to warrant a run in the side!! I've never disputed he had talent so it was really frustrating to see it going to waste.

We should if it keeps this run going. It's working at the moment so why change it?

2nd half was outstanding, one of those performances that stands out, remember waller v halifax in 89, roger willis away at grimsby in the cup 97/98 lester v rotherham when we won 5-0 this was up there with them. some of these may seem obscure but somtimes just odd performances stand out

Maybe I was watching a different game but Randall seemed to give the ball away far too much for my liking and would be nowhere near my MOM. Seems I'm in the minority though.

Yep, watching a different game, best game i've seen him play. I think his motivation [ aside from Cookies instep ] was Tommy's coat ....... bet he thought it was a flash back to Wenger at the Emirates!!

To be fair i agree with Andy Spireite...for every good ball there was a bad one from Randall. Better than he has been but still a lot to do to convince me he is going to perform on a consistent basis.

All chances were being created by Randall. If the goal was to come, it was coming from Randall. With a Randall type of player, you can't expect him to play the types of passes he goes for 100% of the time but still creates boat loads of chances a game. I think his pass percentage will increase but it was the the fact that his movement was better and the fact that he created his own space by making runs with the ball much more which is the reason i think it was his best game. If his free kick went in, people would be gagging on his performance i reckon and rightly so.

The type of player Randall is there's going to be a few bad 'Uns. If there wasn't he'd be at a much higher level

I agree he was a lot better than he has been purely because he was involved and i've never argued that he didnt have the talent..the fact he had it and wasted it was more frustrating than wayward passing. However he still needs to be able to realise that hollywood balls all the time are not the way forward. Yes now and then and the ball for the goal was a cracker but on Saturday when we were trying to build the pressure to equalise or get a winner it was frustrating to see the ball being wasted and going back to them when attempting some glory ball.

Likely as not he did; not everyone took it so literally, eg actually jumping out of the way when man and ball was coming into his path.
