Disagree fish. We were in control and looking likely until PC started messing about with our attacking formation. He switched Darikwa & Dickenson and immediately the latter started losing the ball at a rate of knots, Randall started his Hollywood style of passing into touch and failing to find a blue shirt, I counted at least five very poor consecutive balls from him and there were more, Hird also made a few similar mistakes resulting in us losing any form of cohesion. Even then we still managed to miss nearly as any chances as the ref did decisions in our favour.

PC seemed to get it sorted for the second half but we still missed chance after chance until we actually scored Avignon survived Lee spilling the ball for what could have been their second goal. From where I was, and having seen some of the stuff the ref ad been more than lenient with from them, I didn't see the Lester thing as being anymore than a yellow but the guy a couple of rows behind in the East Stand said the ref couldn't wait to get the red out and he'd been waiting fr the opportunity from the kick off.

Why is it that whenever we play Burton they seem to waste time from the first minute and whoever the ref is seems to turn a blind eye as well as miss the majority of their fouls and blow for the slightest thing we do?

and why did the 4th official put the board up for 4 minutes added time on 88 minutes, they seemed to only pay 4 more minutes from that point, can anybody confirm?

Didnt see it as Lee 'spilling' the ball. He made a point blank palmed stop, as as he went to recover the ball he was fouled.

PS Do you mean a pont d'avignon save?

Was this the fantastic save from zolas header? If that's 'spilling' the ball then keepers may as well give up!

Yes it was bonkers and, in any event, more than 4 minutes should have been played given that players were down injured for 2 of the 4 minutes played.

I pointed that out as well. Four minutes were added at 88 and then another two minutes were taken up with the head clash injury. I was suprised the whistle went when it did - early I thought - and when I looked at the time there were still two minutes left. I made that four minutes underplayed.

I thought the ref was awful. Burton were playing for time from the kick-off and they took the P big time. The refs body language gave no indication he knew what was going off. Generally happy because the second half display left us still playing well and in the ascendency.

Perhaps our clock isn't accurate. Perhaps it slows up in't cold.

We do after all have a reputation and tradition to uphold vis a vis the quality of the stadium clock.

Wonder what happened to the Cross Street one, which was of course always right twice a day.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

I think the officials over the most of the game were poor.Any cards used ,i think the rules state there should be 30 seconds added for each one , not sure about red ones and also the same with subs, not to mention the time wasting keeper who actively wasted time from the first few minutes of the game. He got better at it ( time wasting) as the game went on.Non of the officials seemed to think he was doing anything wrong. Same with the falling over and diving from their players. Ref was conned and if he was being marked on his performance by another official in the stand I doubt he will get many league matches.
