Not read anything else on here yet but thought we were OK today.

Good first ten, dropped off a bit - daft goal conceded but stepped it up 2nd half and did enough to win most matches in this division.

Our issue? Nowt new. Poor final ball and lack of shooting prowess around the box.

I'm not concerned after that. Top seven as an absolute minimum.

Couldn't see anything any good first half, I just wonder if losing LBM at the last minute upset the team a little. Far far better 2nd half but we have to play for 90 mins

Tell you what though Burton are becoming something of a bogey side at the minute happy though that the unbeaten run is still going a point is better than none regardless poof how we played.

I know the exact player who would be the answer to our lack of shooting prowess in and around the box, and I'm sure it wouldn't take many guesses for you to work out who. It pains me to see him wasted on the sidelines.

Agree with that . On another day we could have had 3 or 4 . Hit woodwork twice.

For me, burton was the best team to play up here this season ( except us of course )got the ball down and played some nice passing stuff and looked dangerous on the break 1st half, 2nd half they got men back behind the ball and were very difficult to break down,

That said we still had the chances to win the game but for a post or 3 we would have, so I'm not too worried by todays result, not many other teams will take points away from the proact this season, and am expecting a top 3 finish.

Yeh but it could have been a real uphill battle had their free kick that hit the post had gone in. How inovative was Randalls freekick though - long time since I have seen us come up with a routine that good.

Disagree fish. We were in control and looking likely until PC started messing about with our attacking formation. He switched Darikwa & Dickenson and immediately the latter started losing the ball at a rate of knots, Randall started his Hollywood style of passing into touch and failing to find a blue shirt, I counted at least five very poor consecutive balls from him and there were more, Hird also made a few similar mistakes resulting in us losing any form of cohesion. Even then we still managed to miss nearly as any chances as the ref did decisions in our favour.

PC seemed to get it sorted for the second half but we still missed chance after chance until we actually scored Avignon survived Lee spilling the ball for what could have been their second goal. From where I was, and having seen some of the stuff the ref ad been more than lenient with from them, I didn't see the Lester thing as being anymore than a yellow but the guy a couple of rows behind in the East Stand said the ref couldn't wait to get the red out and he'd been waiting fr the opportunity from the kick off.

Why is it that whenever we play Burton they seem to waste time from the first minute and whoever the ref is seems to turn a blind eye as well as miss the majority of their fouls and blow for the slightest thing we do?

For me a very very poor first half,we we're slow to move the ball forward and when we did we gave the ball away too easily. The first half reminded me of Sheridans tenure.Second half we upped the tempo and the quality of passing improved.Overall if we had sneeked a winner i think Burton would have felt hard done by.

Didnt see it as Lee 'spilling' the ball. He made a point blank palmed stop, as as he went to recover the ball he was fouled.

PS Do you mean a pont d'avignon save?

From where I was sat the ball came away from Lee and their man was first to it - I saw no foul but it I believe it was deemed that he kicked it out of Tommy's hands but some say the linesman flagged for offside. Either way it didn't count.

Presimaby we might be clearer after seeing player highlights. But, there again, its just the kind of the incident that is omitted.

Tommy defo only had one hand on (on top) the ball when their player put it in the net, my assumption was that the player with the initial header was penalised for climbing. Thought the lino flagged and signalled to his left rather than stright out, thus ruling out an offside decision, but not certain.

Like you said, didn't count so irrelevant now.
