It seems we were mistaken in giving credit to our one-time manager for his signing. According to the DT's piece by Gregor Robertson he rang Alan Knill and asked to sign. Not a lot of people knew that I suspect.

Has been well documented that it was knill that said to Rico that jack wanted to join.

Not read the article though, sounds decent.

Lester himself mentioned this in an interview a while back. Shows what a sensible bloke he is. Doing his own donkey work rather than relying on a blood sucking agent. Alot of other footballers could learn from that example. But then again, Jack is perhaps at the more intelligent end of the scale as far as footballers go & so is capable of understanding a contract.

If you have an idea what your worth and how much you want, there is no need to have an agent. All the legal stuff can be sorted through a solicitor.

I thought just about everyone knew JS contacted CFC.
A new hope.

I always thought his ex-Forest team mates Barry Roache and Gregor had something to do with it.

Rico may not have made the intial contact but can't we still giving him credit for agreeing to sign him.

He could have said something along the lines of "No way for that weekly wage I can get 2 hungry young strikers who can feed off Steve Fletcher's knock downs. Anyway the guy's over 30 and he's never really been a prolific scorer, has he?"

I refuse to give credit to Rico for anything after he failed to win promotion from League 2 with a strike force of Lester, Ward & Fletcher.

Yeah, but there're always those peddling denial, persuing an agenda, or both.

Thankfully, as has been the case with so many issues over recent times, the individuals in question have been exposed.

 I think it was the length of contract clinched the deal.Don't think anybody else was offering 3 years.I was a bit sceptical at first, but thank god we went for it,best bit of business the club has done.

There's a guy still at the Club who just gets on with his job, not overly loved by the new lot, who wouldn't let Jack leave his office before he'd put pen to paper.
