Done it then, 10 wicket win in India thanks to the spinners. Class that. Series is back on!

No doubt Monty and Swanny bowled very well and out bowled the Indian spinners on their home turf but dont leave out the knocks by Cook and in particular KP...thats why he is worth the hassle of putting up with at times and the effort to get him back in the side. Treated the bowling with utter disdain at times and was just pure class.

Its the way all sports go these days. Quite a few of the much vaunted young German national football side arent actually German, Raheem Sterling who folk are wanting to see in the England team was born in Jamaica etc etc etc....

Just seems the typical english attitude of trying to find a negative in a fabulous achievement.

Didnt get many but then aside from Cook and Prior to an extent nobody did...you could also say the same about Tendulkar who hasnt got any for ages now...however form is temporary and all that. KP is still about the only batsman we have that genuinely worries other sides.

On another note....County fixtures are out later on today for Derbyshires return to Division 1.

Not that any of the others pulled up any trees, mind. Only (South Africa born) Matt Prior and Capatin Cook shone with the bat in the first test.

Opening game could be a blessing in disguise - the battle of the Champions could be a rain affected draw......

Good start day so far for England....may be one of those games where we need to bat big and once. Also good to see the captaincy affecting Cooks batting like it seems to do for so many folk!! ;)

Until some threw the ball straight at him and he jumped out of the way! Sad end to another imperious knock and cant believe some of the Indians had the nerve to jump about celebrating the wicket after another woeful display of fielding, some of them make me look like Jonty Rhodes, but it was probably about the only way they would get him out!! That said Kohli comes across as a bit of a XXX anyway.

Annoyingly he was fractionally away from being given not out. Had he grounded his bat then jumped out of the way he would have been deemed not out.
