Because TW and MC picked the team and formation, after the first 10 minutes he decided to take over the job as he had probably had enough after 10minutes with them in charge as Barnet were all over us for the first ten minutes....

You can't a team you know nothing about if you have only met them for an hour the previous day ( and done no training with them), you should expect someone already in charge to brief you and be able to manage them (in any job, surely you should know that the art of delegation etc)...
