Going Nowhere...fast

So,we now have a new manager who will try to reach parts that even Heineken would find impossible. His disciplinarian methods have not exactly set the world on fire over at Accrington. His last five games failed to produce a single victory and his reign ended with a 5-0 hammering at Oxford. Hardly the best team in the league,themselves. That could all change coming here,but then again,why should it?. The players will now be training from morning til dusk,six days a week,in a bid to do what?. Get them fitter?. Fair enough,but is fitness really the issue?. If allen thinks it is,then why didn,t he order Sheridan or Wright to go down the same path?. Does anyone seriously think players are going to willingly sacrifice all day to training?. Not a chance. Under that sort of regime,who in their right mind would choose to come here,when a far easier life may be on offer elsewhere. Even Mancini has been forced to modify his training routine at citeh. All this business about training and fitness is nothing more than a smokescreen,designed to appease the fans.
Allen is not prepared to put his hand in his pocket again. He didn,t exactly dig very deep last season,unless you count a few useless loanees that appeared in January. That doesn,t leave Cook with too many options. On the field,he is stuck with the same rubbish for the rest of this season and off it,he has to work with TW and MC,who will of course be staying until their respective contracts end. He could replace the current loanees for a new batch,but to what end?. The remainder are still on contract and the likelyhood of anyone taking them off our hands is probably less than zero. Besides,we now how 26 players,which is more than the budget allows,supposedly. So,even with a magic wand in one hand and a prayer book in the other,the chances of Mr Cook changing anything in the near future is pie in the sky. His very appointment is a strange one to say the least and I don,t imagine too many people at Accrington will be losing any sleep over his departure. The proof of the pudding will be in the winning. Just don,t expect it to happen on a regular basis anytime soon.

I think there will be an immediate change next week, 442. At least the games will be more enjoyable even if results don't come. If we are going to lose it may as well be entertaining as opposed to setting up to lose ( or not to lose and then lose anyway). We will give ourselves a chance which is more than we have done in the last 3 home games

PC will start to bridge the deficits:-
a) we'll have a plan and a preferred way of playing (i.e. instead of the claptrap of we pick a team and formation on a match by match basis - read no consistency = I don't know what my best team is);
b) we'll bridge the coaching deficit - have you ever witnessed a more clueless/under coached team;
c) we'll bridge the free kicks and corner routine deficit - lets be honest this area has been criminally poor for years;
d) we'll bridge the fitness deficit - there for all to see in the last quater of every game - did anybody notice the weight Westcarr is carrying?
e) we'll bridge the squad imbalance - players out and players in.
It will take time AND, irrespective of the statements, PC must be allowed to recruit a striker.

Exactly what I said from the start - we should have given TW until the end of the season as soon as Sheridan's resignation was announced. The money spent on getting Cook could have strengthened the squad and avoided the current upheaval and uncertainty which has completely unsettled the team and further dented the already low levels of confidence. However, it's done now, and PC has a huge job on his hands requiring a lot of patience and support from fans for the rest of the season.

They should not have been given the job at all.
They are the biggest joke of all time.
Give them money. Ha Ha to waste like they did on Evans. Get real.

Soph - CFC would be an even bigger team in the conference - I see you line of thought re-buld from the lowest possible base. By the way I got a rear view of TW yesterday - were they your shoelace ends I could just about see?

Very impressive, well - reasoned argument, I don't think. Don't worry, it will now get very real; the uncertainty and confusion caused by NOT being decisive as soon as Sheridan resigned has left PC with a mountain to climb.

I would like to know how people keep saying that evans is costing us money he is here on a youth loan and there is a distinct possibility that blackburn are paying some if not all of his wages that said I think he is useless

Your having a laugh, DA didn't put his hands in his pocket,that's not what he said at the forum.

One wonders why we didn't just employ someone from the REME at possibly a much lower salary. After all if the only thing we need is a bridge-builder

TW would have killed the support even further and probably we would have had a big fight aginst relegation with his negative tactics and poor loan signings such as Evans. I don't know where the PC appoinment has come from but I hope he can wok the miracle this Club needs to get us into the chasing pack for promotion ( then again aren't we only 6pts clear of the other end).

Doesn't appear that way when you listen to DA rant about TW, MC and Evens. His closing words on the issue went something like, this will never ever happen again let me tell you. He was livid with the whole situation, so I can't see him not costing us a wage.
