Pathetic post based on a very rare off day for jack. Yeah good idea drop the top scorer.... Not

There's about 12 more of our squad to think about moving before anyone even starts to think of jack

I'm guessing that you'd be a little bit biased with this topic.
Dunno why but something tells me that you are a bit onesided here........................Its a mystery.

why drop jack it needs someone upfront with him, also he needs the ball at his feet not up in air against a defender 2ft bigger

100% correct.4-5-1 is a complete waste of his talents. To then play high balls aimed at him when there's two taller younger competent centre halves is not only stupid it's quite frankly insulting to Jack. If you have a gem like Jack surely you play to his strengths?

Biased maybe, but also level headed and balanced. Top scorer, great experience and influence and had 1 off day.

If u were to tell me we had a better player who can score more then there would be an issue to address. However there isn't and it remains a fact that he's put the ball in the net for us more times than anyone else

Its not the height the ball arrives at him its what he does with it? he is NOTnever has been never will be a target man and if you watch the video of the game you will see he had no one to knock the ball down to for 90% of the game. Blame Jack as much as you want the tactics of humping it to a sole forward Dont work for Chesterfield FC (it didnt work when the sole forward was Westcarr either and it wouldnt work if it was Richards)

I'm a big fan of Sir Jack but I think it's time to drop him and try another system.
Playing him up front on his own is just not working and playing 4-5-1 at home is never going to get us promoted.

Was discussing this last night over several pints with a few mates, imo yes it is time to drop him, Saturday against Hartlepool is an ideal time for Mr Cook to experiment with players like Boden, Clay etc. Give them a start field an attacking side and just go for it, if we lose we lose our abysmal cup record continues no harm done.
Jack was dire yesterday, well off the pace yes he was on his own but no excuses he was poor, he looked slower than usual so rest him. I am sick of people spouting excuses for Jack, why not just admit when he's pooe instead of he's not a target man etc etc.
Yes he is our Talisman, Yes he is arguably the best player to have worn a town shirt, Yes when he's on his game he's unplayable, Yes I adore the bloke but when he's poor from now on i'm going to say so not make an excuse. No other player gets excused when he has a poor game, why should Jack.

I was thinking about Trots.pushing up for the last 10mins, but when he goes forward his head turns into a fifty pence piece as someone said on here the other week.

Fully agree,it's plain for all to see that's what's needed. Except for that is, the donkey thats been in charge since the other donkey got kicked out.
After yesterdays tactics and brainless substitution changes he ought to be frog marched out of the stadium never to return.

EEE - no not necessarily. I feel that we have players that can get up and down wide right (Darikwa) and wide left (LBM. However, these are also quite good attacking players. I'd be looking to transfer list/get shut of enough players to bring in at least 2 defenders, 1 tall/pacey CM and 1 tall pacey CF. The 5 in midfield would accommodate the play maker we haven't had since god knows how long.

He'll be in a coma if he has any more rest. He's a professional footballer and has barely played 4 full games so far. What he does need his a big man alongside him to shoulder some of the weight.

I don't think it's fair slating Jack. 4-5-1 at HOME to BARNET is unacceptable. We all know how good he is, but stranded on his own with 2 players specifically staying tight on him he will be ineffective. Most of the best players in the world struggle up front on their own, so what we do need to do is get someone up top he can work with, then we will see Jack at his best.
Happiness is like a cake. Have too much; and you get sick of it.
