Ultimately we are where we are because of Sheridan, TW and MC.........and yes its bad....very bad but people need to look forward, Sheridan is history and Cook now has the reigns. He's got a massive job and probably didn't realise how massive until yesterday. He didn't pick the team and was very much led by what TW and MC told him....and I suspect that alone will have given him big doubts about their ability as coaches.
I'm very impresssed by his summing up of the game and clearly he understands the game which is refreshing but I think its going to take several weeks before he gets his ideas over and until he's able to first move a few players on and to bring in a few new faces....which we desperatly need.

I dont think anyone has said Cook was responsible for yesterdays latest 451 debacle

If this is the case then it doesn't fill me with confidence when he comes to assessing future opponents.

Doesn't fill me with confidence if PC is so easily led.

He's not done anything of note himself yet, what is it 8 wins from thirty odd games.
and clearly he understands the game which is refreshing
Would guess 75% of the crowd understand the game. Takes a bit more than that to be a successful manager, even at this urine poor level.

He Couldnt possibly make it worse and he obviously saw the shambles for himself because he isnt suppose to be in charge till Monday and he took over the role within 4 minutes and I for one think that R o'D deserved the roasting he was putting us under pressure rolling the ball to Forbes hopefully that was the first of many for the underachievers. He as a mountain to climb and he will need our support problem is momentum is truely lost I have a season ticket and will keep going but Cook needs to show 1000+ others CFC are worth watching no easy task because so far they havent been.

Did you expect him to pick the side yesterday cos if you did you must be one of the 25%.
Personaly i think his record in Ireland reads quite well.

Agree with all of this but I don't see anyone putting the blame at Cook's door for yesterday, Tommy picked the side and the system. What I do like in his interview after was his complete honesty, he was led by the interviewer to comment on the players and Tommy regarding selection/formation etc, he didn't slate either when he could easily have done so.
Yesterday highlighted perfectly why Tommy didn't get the job, a complete shambles having Jack up top on his own AGAIN at home, thats happened three times we have lost all three, anyone who wanted Tommy at manager must surely see after yesterday he didn't deserve the job.
We need a complete shake up, from training, approach, attitude etc etc, I feel Mr Cook is the ideal man to get stuck into our squad and give it a bit of shape and beleif, I have agreed with every word he has said so far. I hope we ship out certain players so Mr Cook can bring in his own, he will need to to shape the side into what he wants.

Hmmm I wasn't happy with him when I saw 451 if I am honest. He was appointed on Friday, that's when he became manager. I believe he needs to hit the ground running to get us out of this mess, I also believe he needed to stamp his authority immediately. He must have known well before kick off that 451 was going to be used. I would have expected him to turn round to Tommy Wright and say "451? We are at home for gods sake, change it to 2 upfront and let's see how it goes". As he said in his interview, he is manager he makes the decisions.
I was disappointed if I am 100% honest.

Give the bloke a chance for god sake...he will have learnt alot about the players and his coaches from the game. He wasn't "easily led" he allowed those two to pick the team and system because he didn't know enough about the players or what system we have been playing. A manager is not going to come in after one training session pick a team and play a brand new system, that would be crazy...and generally with little time to put his stamp on the team that's what most new managers would have done.
Go and have a look what he's done as a manager in Ireland....I'd be happy with that! 75% of the supporters understand the game enough to manage us then?....Mmmm don't think so.
I cannot believe your comments....are you a Mansfield fan in disguise

How the heck do you interpret the above line into the one below
75% of the supporters understand the game enough to manage us then?.
I'm willing to give PC a chance probably more so than many others - besides it not as if we have any choice.
As for coming in and picking the team. I don't for one moment believe it was his own team, however simply asking to see the team sheet and seeing a 37 yr old being asked to play as a lone striker should immediately set warning bells ringing.
No denying he has a decent record with Sligo, unfortunately football in Ireland is not the highest standard. Surely much more pertinent is the record with Southport and Accrington.

PC came to the club on Thursday and spent the day locked in a room with DA.
On Friday he did all the press stuff and briefly met the team
TW + MC had been working all month on a 4-5-1
He was supposed to take on managerial duties on Monday. It did it at 4 minutes past 3 and is taking training today.
Please don't condemn him for showing TW + MC he had full confidence in them. Confidence that wore thin after 4 minutes.

Maybe it would have been better to have spent thursday locked in a room with the team.
On Friday do all the press stuff and then briefly met DA....Again.

Maybe, but you can't really meet the team until you have negotiated a deal and signed a contract.

If the 2 are to work together he has to show that he has some faith in TW from the off, had he overuled his decision it wouldn't have made a very good platform for the future relationship. As it now stands he can sit him down and say look you have played 451 for the last 3 home games and lost all 3, it's time we tried something different and reverted to a traditional 442 etc
Next week will be the telling formation when he has been with the players for a week and see what we have

Maybe so, although I haven't seen or heard that.. Even so I would have expected him to stamp some authority. Sorry but 451 yesterday was unacceptable. He should have changed it. If he was to have no input yesterday why on earth was he on the touch line?
I want better from our manager, sorry.
