Another good win yesterday and we've gone up a spot to 3rd in the table. Brampton Brewery looking good though and the team in 2nd place have some lad who has scored 17 in 6 games so far this season!!

Top 2 play each other next week and I believe we play bottom of the table at home, we have a game in hand on them both above us as well. Not looking forward to playing a rampant Brampton, though we have the next best defensive record in the league after them.
Hope your back and playing soon.

Yeh, saw the top two play each other soon and i expect Brampton to win but you never know. Hopefully we can keep it together and see what happens. Going to give it a go and see what happens but being a defender and us having one of the best defensive records in the division its not going to be easy to get a game!!

Pretty solid start to the season as you can see, just the one defeat in 7 and joint best defence in the league (we havnt played the top 2 yet though), got a big game against 4th this weekend and with a game in hand on us its imperative that we put them away. The top 2 look ridiculously good though, knocking in 74 goals in a combined 15 games.

We play Brampton Brewery next weekend it turns out which has dropped a bit annoyingly as one of our better players wont be there. For what its worth our, AFC Grouse, improvement can be measured by the fact we need one more point to match our total from all of last season!!

And look where it got them!

As it happens we are away against one of the teams that benefited from us getting kicked off Highfield Park this weekend. Apparently with Holmebrook Valley being shut the teams from there apparently got first pick of where to go instead. Holmebrook Tavern picked Highfield Park so as soon as we were late with our application that was curtains for us!!

Cheers for putting that up, it's always heartening as a new player to see that your helping the team out, even though I havnt really been playing that well it's nice to know that at least the team will do better than last season, barring a major major loss of form haha.

Why who isnt there for when we play Brampton Brewery? It is a tough pair of fixtures but I'm not in the mood to relinquish third place now that we've played so well to get it. This team is capable of good things this year.
Quick question Jon is Highfield park that set of football pitches just down the hill from Highfield hall?

My brother Iain who normally plays up front or just behind the striker. He's one of those in Poland this weekend and then away at the NFL at Wembley, i think with Sulli as well, next weekend.
Its been a massive improvement on previous years not least down to the influx of players. Along with yourself the likes of Wes, Monksy, Jake, Jase, Ant, Matt and others i probably cant remember have all joined plus Martin in net and Rhys up top are playing on a regular basis rather than here and there. Times last season we barely had 11...this season even this weekend with a few away it looks like if there are no last minute drop outs we will still have 3 subs...if you count me!!

Highfield Park is just across the road from Newbold School just up from the Proact on Highfield Lane. There are three or four pitches on there. If you head up the hill from the Donkey Derby pub up the side of the petrol station then go left at the roundabout they are on that road. There are two ways onto it but i think we are on our old pitch which has its own changing rooms so its easier and not as far to park in Newbold School or on Highfield Lane and go in from that side.

We ended up playing me and the manager up front who had a combined playing time of 0 mins so far this season, i'm a defender and he's a keeper and we've both had injuries so werent close to 100% fit in the slightest!! Like to think we'd have beaten them with a couple more of the players that didnt show.

You and Sully did very well given the circumstances Jon as we were always going to be up against it. They had to rely on a freekick that should never have been to get them in the game and then we just had a 10 minute off period where fitness became an issue and they got their goals. For the other 80 minutes we were comfortable and played well given the fact we had people out of position everywhere.

We had a few decisions go against us as the free kick on the edge of the box that we had first half was in the box and should have been a penalty plus their third goal came from a handball in the centre circle that wasnt given.

This is how it stacks up at half way or just over for some. After a slight dip in form we've pulled it back with 2 wins in the last 3 and were pretty much cheated out of a point in the other by a ref giving ridiculous amounts of extra time when we only had 10 men on and them scoring in the last minute cause of this.
The top 3 have broken away by quite a sizeable gap but we've got a pretty solid 4th place at the minute providing the results of games in hand go our way. And we've got all our players back at the minute so maybe we can push higher if one of the top 3 starts to falter. A very solid season so far.
