I use to subscribe to player but stopped it 2 seasons ago, due to the unreliability of the live feeds and being able to watch better quality highlights via the Football League Show and the BBC Sport website for free.

Now the BBC now longer provide highlights on via their website and the football league show don’t cover mid week matches, I have no mechanism to watch mid week highlights.

Is there anything out there (aside from player) that could provide such highlights?

I think there is another programme on up t’north, but as I’m in North Devon and Portsmouth most of the time I can’t pick it up.

I know some will come on and tell me to subscribe to player again, but looking at the match thread last night people were complaining yet again about connectivity issues – so not that keen to do so.

I suspect your only bet is catching them on Sky Sports News or alike.

Regret no access during the week, if Sky Sports show the highlights then it could probably be accessed at a later date?

If it was a proper show then yes but it tends to be just on Sky Sports News and being lucky to catch them i think. They used to do a Football League show on a Friday evening that previewed the weekend and highlights of the previous week but i cant seem to see it on the TV Guide.

They are usually on Sky Sports News between 7-8am or 8-9am the next morning.
The BBC site is a disgrace since it was all changed.
Player is way overpriced.

It is very fussy and far to much stuff on there now. However that said i can only assume the lack of highlights is a rights issue more than anything else. They had them on there last season ever after the site redesign.

The Sky Sports website shows highlights of all League 2 games. They add the video on the Monday after a Saturday game (like the BBC site did) so I would imagine last night's highlights would be available tomorrow.

I'd point you back in the direction of Spireites Player though, highlights wise there are the ones provided by Perform but there are also club provided highlights which usually are a good 10-15 minutes of action. A much welcomed addition.
Guess I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue!

Thanks for that Town fan as I've just watched them. I thought that it was just us in the West Stand that thought the lob from Jack was going wide but I spoke to someone who was in the kop (not sure which part) and he also thought it was going wide.

No player is bigger than the club, and everything moves on, but Jack is going to leave the biggest gap when he finally hangs his boots up than anyone else in my 45 years of watching Town.

As someone has posted elsewhere, he gets cut a lot of slack when it's not going well, but oh boy does he earn it. If you watch his passes he sees things that you can't from the stand and I would say that only Kevin Davies has been close to that pure natural ability and instinct in my time. My Dad talks about Gordon Dale so perhaps a 'real oldie' could comment on that. It is truly a gift and a joy to watch.

Paul.
