Embarrassed

Back pages today ? To shake hands or not? Managers and club officials don't seem to have a clue on how to deal with the situation.Let's face it ,how do you deal with really naughty children , who ARE in charge.
Ferdinand and Evra may think that they hold the moral high ground and maybe they probably have a right to. But I seriously think that this prolonged dogmatic stance by BOTH "sides" is taking us back into the dark days of the 70's/80's - when we had fences ,one of the curses of football. If there had not been fences at Hillsborough despite all the failings of different people the fatal tragedy would probably never have been as bad as it was.
Ryan Nelsen was embarrassed by John Terry's "dive". I'll tell you what embarrassed me. That two more of our countries finest young men died today in a God forsaken country where they constantly risk getting shot or blown to pieces in a war that they will never win whilst our prime donna ,highly paid , so called sportsmen , behave like THREE year olds.
They don't embarrass me. They make me feel ashamed.
For God's sake grow up!

Plus no diving about and a great example by Harper in the net when he was fouled...but yet again all we see on the back pages is the refs/linesman's decision...

Agreed, Harper showed a lot of class with the incident not many if any other player would have done that, a superb seasoned pro that puts 99.9% of them to shame.
I also agree Everton were spot on with what they did, I couldn't help but feel sorry for the little boy in the Liverpool kit tho he looked terrified. I admit to having a lump in my throat, the Newcastle fans also deserve some credit. throughout the applause especially when the camera focused on the little girl and boy with Everton and Liverpool kits on.
I wonder if the Manchester clubs would be as supportive to each other ?

I think the Manchester Clubs would be just as supportive as I like to think that an incident of this magnitude transcends rivalry.

Agree with this. I think you give the vast majority of football fans no credit in a similar way to the vast majority of footballers that are decent blokes. Unfortunately both groups are let down by a small minority of idiots!!

There was a small minority of United fans who were a disgrace with some bad chants towards Liverpool on saturday and the club have promised to ban anyone found guilty.
I was at a United game in the 80's and Everton fans were not as good towards United and the Munich disaster with there chants they even had a flag which was out of taste to those that died.
Would the Manchester clubs be as supportive i would and i can only speak for myself but i think the majority would you always get that small minority who let the club down...

Your completely right, the incident you speak of Saturday with the United fans is a bit saddening to hear, I am sure they got silenced very quickly from the majority. I think football and it's fans has moved on in leaps and bounds with the hatred of certain clubs and it's supporters by other supporters in the seventies and eighties being somewhat a thing of the past.
Those dark days will hopefully never return, some of the chants back then were shocking, thankfully such chants don't get sung these days.
