Interesting comment from Manny on Saturday, when I asked him about his time on trial here.

Said he spent 3 weeks on trial, only to be told at the end of it that we were only looking to sign a Left Back anyway!!

Seems the then manager's very public backing and faith in Smith was not exactly the case in reality!

Sheridan had lost the plot.

Neil Grayson is still banging them in, scoring tonight for Heanor Town despite being nearly 48.

Does he still live at Hady?

Did do about 2 years ago, my mate fitted him a new carpet!

Sounds like it's working out a good move for him, wish him all the best and who knows we may see him back in the league in the not too distant future.

Sounds like Bowery had a decent first competitive fixture in a Villa shirt, having several attempts on target, including hitting the bar, for their U21's last saturday:

With Benteke scoring for the first team after coming off the bench Bowery may have to wait a while, although the report sounds like he did more than Agbonlahor so if he keeps up the good work for the reserves he may find himself above him in the pecking order.

Odd game football, competing with Scott Boden for a place in the starting eleven one week and with a full England international the next

That brace agbonlahor got in the reserves will have denied Jordan the chance to prove himself. He'll just have to do likewise to get onto the bench again. Bent is on form and Benteke has done well so far too.

Dunno if it's been mentioned but that Cadogan fella from Palace has signed for Aldershot on a 3 month deal.
Guess I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue!
