If Kent lose don't both Derbys & Yorks go up anyway? All good in my eyes! (And with the Lankies coming down as wellPosted Image)

If Kent lose we go up. As I'm going Friday to Derby I hope it's then. Not sure what to expect but be nice to be a part of it. As a thirteen year old kid I was pretty much the first on the Lords outfield as Derbyshire beat Lancashire.

Good weather forecast at all three grounds tomorrow and Friday.

We've really got to get to 300 if we want a chance of winning the title for both points and a second innings lead.

Also just realised that most of the Hants team are due to play on Saturday v Warks in then one day final. Surely they are playing for places?

I doubt it. They'll know the side. More concerned with not getting injuries I'd suggest.

The interesting developments so far today are again away from Derby down in Cardiff...Kent just lost 3 wickets in 14 balls and are now 95-5 still trailing by 124 runs.

Derbyshire 217-7 so have a bonus point after losing Khawaja and Wainwright this morning. Housemates, Swarkestone team mates and all round good chums Whiteley and Poynton are in currently.

If we can somehow get to 300 then we will have the same points as Yorkshire so they have to win. I don't know how it sits at the moment if we don't get to 300?

However what happens in Cardiff in the next session is pivotal. Lots of Croft and Reed I feel.

Don't our two batting bonus points mean we are equal on points with the Yorkies? This would mean matching their outcome would make us champions by vitue of most wins. Is that right?

I fancy us to get a lead of fifty-ish and wish it another batting point.

As it stands both teams have the same points with us top by virtue of our 5 wins to their 4. From here on in we're champions if we win or both teams draw. Yorkshire win and we draw then they take it.

This is all of course banking on the fact that Kent lose!!

Kent 6 down about 20 short of making Glamorgan bat again whilst two early wickets at Derby see Hampshire 16-2.

PS...anyone else watched any of it on Sky and got very annoyed with them constantly referring to us as "Derby" rather than Derbyshire?

It's a perennial and very irritating error.

Would they refer to Yorkshire as 'York'?

A stern e-mail required at some point, methinks.

PS: 'Mikey's' there so should put 'em straight!
Never underestimate the stupidity of people

I do notice it tends to be Colville and Bob Willis who are the main folk doing it...and to be honest when it comes to those two its one of the less irritating things about them both!!

By the way Chris you may be interested in this little twitter conversation i had with Rob Staton of Radio Sheffield yesterday...at least he is going to acknowledge our success this season :-

Rob Staton ‏@robstaton
Yorkshire on course for promotion in the cricket. Essex just bowled out for 177, Yorks lead by 135. Instant return to D1 inevitable it seems

Jon Branson Jon Branson ‏@jonbranson
@robstaton No doubt Radio Sheffield will be crowing about that whilst failing to mention Derbyshire at all again!! ;-)

Rob Staton Rob Staton ‏@robstaton
@jonbranson Hey I get on very well with Derbyshire. Already got a few things lined up for our Break show if/when they go up to.

Abdur Rehman's match figures were impressive in Somerset's win against Worcs

101 - 14

Hopefully there is still turn in that pitch in Cardiff...

Don't tempt fate now. Remember what Tom did two weeks back.
