[Tez CFC]

I believe that we have the potential to be THE best side in the League next season.

Lets hope we can keep this squad together over the summer and see us cruise into the Championship on the back of the title!

We have such a never say die attitude and our fans are the best when it comes to taking on adversity!

In a way i agree, but the best in the team are our loan players:

Hursty
O'Hara
Picken
and Kovacs looks decent as well

I cant fault your optimism but i for one think the best chance we will ever have as just passed us by!

Let's put this in perspective for you then. If the league is that bad the we are probably not as good as you think we are, given our position.

Rubbish, there are some good teams, but there are a lot who are as good as each other. I still wouldn't bet against us getting to the play-offs this season, considering we gave the league leaders a football lesson and were defeaeted by abysmal refereeing. Even if we don't do it this season, to say that we have missed our chance is daft, and I would predict another strong effort next season.

If it is really so bad this season ,how is swapping seven out of 24 teams at the end of the season going to improve it so much that we can't have a decent shot at it next term?

All this "last chance before I die" sort of stuff is a bit extreme.

Agree totally with you but we have to have the team ready for the battle from the first game and get off to a good start next season unlike the terrible rubbish start we endured this season, Roy failed to prepare the lads should have had the team assembled ready for the start. If we had started well prepared we would almost certainly been in the top 3 by now. I hope he has learned this very expensive lesson next season

I'm one of Fishiy's biggest critics, but I really do think he is right on this point and you are wrong. We started under-prepared because we hadn't got enough players in and ready to form a team. I was at Blackpool, and while I thoroughly enjoyed the day, we didn't really play that well if we're honest. Where I do differ on this point, is that I did NOT blame Roy for not having the players ready, because he had tried his best. Looking forward, whichever level we play at next season, Roy has now got the basis of a good squad with plenty of young players who could go an and become even better. That hope is, of course, dependent on what happens with contracts, loan players etc.

I will stand being corrected on this, Soph, but hadn't we got the full squad signed up at the start of the season, apart from the loanees - Clingan in particular? Trouble was that Niven was injured and Allott was being asked to play in central midfield for the first time. Bailey then got injured, Hazell went to right back, where he was awful, and then in the second game Downes was injured. Hardly gives a team the chance to settle into the season, does it? It simply proved, if proof were needed, that we're 20% less effective without Niven to put himself about, though had we got Clingan early on it might have helped.

You are right H, but that is just what I mean - the team wasn't sorted in terms of their best positions (like Hazell), and also in terms of getting used to playing together, especially the goalkeeper/defence combination. Anyway, the main point is that I hope we get contracts etc. sorted before THIS season ends, then we will be in a really good position to mount a strong League 1 (or even Championship) season next time round.
