I know its a strange commment and it doesn't serve justice if the referee is apalling but for me the fact is that bad referees make really exciting games, because the players are enthralled and therefore up their passion, a the fans are in uproar and create a hostile atmoshere and then the games just seem to increase in excitement. Any1 else share this view?

Yer i know, we never seem to profit from it but sometimes excitement is better than performance. BUT AT THE END OF THE DAY 3 POINTS FOR THE SPIRERITES IS MOST IMPORTANT!

Here's one for the conspiracy theorists:

Deadman reffed (poorly, by all accounts) at Portman Road the other week, when one of his linos was...

Fred Graham!!!

Interesting!! Maybe Mr Deadman (how appropriate that name will be if he ever turns up in Chesterfield again) happened to mention to Mr Graham that he was reffing us soon and Fred told him to stick it up us?

How else can you explain todays unbelievable performance from him? He wasn't incompetent, he was blatantly cheating.

What's ludicrous about it? It actually makes a lot of sense to me...
I think it's spot on as the crowd and the players get pumped up when there's a "villain" in the "drama"
sometimes though it gets ugly forms like rash tackles and "backchat" to the ref after each insident, but certainly makes the game more exciting.
This is my truth........ now tell me yours.

I prefer crap ref's to make exciting games on the tv, not when we are involved, pity the ref's have to be protected - they don't deserve it, their assessors ought to be able to be interviewed also - give their opinion on the performances. It's so annoying the amount of useless officials we get in a season..

..season after season, no improvement.

Maybe you need to re-read it again; the guy doesn't say he WANTS crap refs, he just makes the point that the controversey and anger creates an exciting atmosphere, which is perfectly true. I'm sure, like the rest of us, he'd prefer a competent ref, boring atmosphere, and Spireites win.
