Right I have bitten my tonue long enough, however as a Football fan, and above most a Chesterfield fan, I thought that Wednesday nights game was an excellent example of football.

Now lets look at the issues and what was said.

1st. This board does not want promotion!! Anyone who thinks this is absolutely thick as bull s... For someone who is a Director of a business, you always want the best return on your investments. How the hell on earth can the current board expect to return that initial (and subsequent investment) return on their original investment.

2nd. What exactly was wrong was with the defence? Donny had only a few chances. There's no doubting we gifted them a goal. However, I honestly believe that Barry is probably the best Keeper since Billy M. His penalty save would have been raved about on MOTD. As regards the back four. Picken (21), the find of the season, Kovacs (20), an unknown who had to deal with Fortune-West a strong forward who is as clever as Alison, Downes, (a full blooded replacement for Blathers) great in the air, better distribution; and Alan O'Hare, granted not a left back aShinner in his old days, but equally a player with which town need in their squad. And for the smart ones don't pick me up on the ages cos I'm guessing.

3rd. An old lady critised Allott infront of Niven! Enough said. Derek is a work horse granted, however Mark's vision and skill is the best at CFC. Derek for all his engine has to has the worst first touch and distribution in the league. Let's face it, if he had, he would not be with us. O'Hara, we cannot hold onto him. Hurst, someone who should be top of Roy's buy list. Hall, Hmmm, as my school report says could do better, however has 11 goals his name. So just think what he could do!!

4th. The Cheif, well I was a Reevies fan and last season I thought this was a big mistake. How wrong I was. Wayne is the cheif of Chiefs!!! Without a doubt one of the all time CFC greats. Larkin, on a good day Colin could have scored a hatfull. Didn't and would be and should be in the squad for Saturday.

Now for Steve, (first caller on Rant or Rave). Steve I'm gonna make this simple, (cos you obviously are!!!!) save your money on drink, drugs and phone calls to peak FM, go to a match a then make a call to rant or rave..

Dave, (third caller on R&R) I have been a fan too for 30yrs, so stop living in the past, start to hold an agrument and stop being a ****.

Finally Southend on Saturday, WE are, Yes that's not Forest, Bristol City, or even Tramire 4 points behind the play offs, with a 4500 crowd and a young squad. Let's start being CHESTERFIELD football fans. Get behind the team, get behind ROY and lets look forward to Cardiff and not next season!!!!

Centrestand Blue.

Ps. Chris, yes you the friend of Big Al and the Burberry baseball cap. Instead of trying to find your way to the PA box within 10 seconds of the full time whistle, walk towards the exit sign, don't turn around, don't press go and don't collect your self admiration.

I dont agree with a lot Chris says but for once Weds night he hit the nail on the head. We have needed a striker near on all season and the fact is now The Chief is out that fact will be highlighted even more. One point i do agree on is we need to be CFC again which means getting behind the team who evers in it Saturday. Thought the atmosphere Weds was poor, my opinion of which im intitled.....

From where I was on the Kop the atmosphere was GOOD, with supportive chants when we were behind, and appreciation for players' efforts even when they missed; there are many clubs where supporters would have turned on the keeper after a clear blunder like Rochey's, but the fans kept encouraging him, and were rewarded with his excellent penalty save. I also noticed that quite a few of the players came to the Kop end at the finish, which is not often done when you lose, and I think they were showing appreciation for good support, so I can't understand your comments about poor support, and the players obviously didn't see it like that.
I also disagree about that irritating Chris character, who get's about 25% of the airtime after every game; in my opinion he totally missed the nail AND the piece of wood; it's so simple to say that we need to go and get a proven striker who is guaranteed to score loads of goals - what an IDIOTIC comment - isn't that what EVERY single team in the country is looking for, and how can it be done if you aren't Chelsea? Facile comments stating the bleeding obvious are really beginning to get up my nose, so why don't we just recognise the fact that we are doing well this season, we have a great squad with brilliant team spirit, and we just have to start converting pressure and chances into more goals to win games?

wednesday night was crap we should have beaten donny hands down but we use the same stuff all the time and teams are getting used to the idea we get the ball hit it towards allison and hope he can do something yes it has worked some times but its about time we tried some thing different
allison come off and what does mcca do put bambie  on some 1 tall to kick the ball to point taken what was wrong giving heath a run out we was 1 nil down wth nowt to lose any thing was better than bambie
yes we have a small squad he shouldnt have let debolla go
this may upset some off u but i think macca is fast running outa ideas on the pitch and in training
set pieces were crap so was the corners short 1 dnt make me laugh
any 1 could see when we passed the ball we ran rings around donny so why hit and run thats school stuff
we need tp win on saturday or we can kiss good bye to the play offs as like every 1 said on rant and rave we r slipping we need a run of wins not draws to be good enough to go in the championship or if we do go up we will come stright back down and be lucky to win 5

Well said Soph. The atmosphere was good, even when the lads went behind and into the second half there were supportive chants. Even in the last 3-4 minutes, the fans were still singing! This Chris guy (he does sometimes talk some sense) really baffles me sometimes, you can guarantee what hes gonna say after game. How has he got this little slot on peak cos i could give a better analysis of things. Agree with the striker thing, every team is lookin for one. Bristol City have just signed one on loan from Brighton - Mark McCammon or someone and if you look at the strikers they have, you have to ask yourself (well i certainly do), why do they need one? Marcus Stewart, Brooker etc!! Every team needs a STRIKER, not just forwards! Strikers are the ones that score the goals and in my opinion, thats what we are lacking and what we will be lackin now the chief is out. Paul Hall continues to mystify me, ok.... hes got 12 goals but (and i dont want to be harsh on the man) but what else has he done recently?? For me he loses the ball too easily, his passes have been poor. For me, he doesnt look like a midfielder, maybe if we play him upfront on a regular basis we might get the best out of him.

In response to Buxtons comments: I agree with you about Folan, sorry, but the guy is never gonna do it at this level. Feel sorry for the lad because he tried on wednesday but tryin isnt good enough if we want to get into them playoffs. DeBolla - best decision was to release him, he was never good enough either. I agree with you about corners, we dont seem to have any kind of routine or anything and whenever we do a short corner we always mess it up. Get that ball straight into the mixer!! :) Another thing that baffles me and its not just us that do it, but when we have a kick off, why do we just lump the ball up so that the opponents get control of the ball or it goes out for a throw in!!

Anyways... be a good test on saturday. They didnt look much cop when we played them down there! Come on lads..believe in yourselves and it is all still possible. Fans - 120% behind them on saturday.

How did the self acclaimed voice of Chesterfield sum it up today? Was it anti mac pro mac or a prozac day?

I was tuned in to the wrong channel on the way home and when I got tuned in a little girl came on so I assume I missed Chris's 10 min slot?

Incidentally I thought the little girl was better than Chris normally is, only sounded about 7/8 but gave a good account for one so young.
