On a Different Derbyshire CCC topic, vote here for Dan Redfern to be LV CC County Championship breakthrough player.

http://www.lv.com/ab...g-performances/

Voted but Root or Meaker will probably win it.

Apparently C4 have got the rights for the NFL coverage this season....wonder if he'll make a return!!

Leicestershire batting Hampshire out of the game as well.

Leicestershire 356 & 208/6 (72.0 ov)
Hampshire 181
Leicestershire lead by 383 runs with 4 wickets remaining

Tail has officially wagged and continues to do so. 100 partnership for 9th wicket and excellent support for Madsen!

I am flipping between two cricket threads here but if I had a cap I would be doffing it to Messrs Poynton and Madsen. Previous best 9th wicket partnership v Northants was 78. It is now at least 145!

Brings home just how bad the BBC Sports website is. Can't find anywhere how many bonus points we have to date this match; anybody confirm?

Yep...was happy to get close let alone lead and along with Leicestershire setting Hampshire and unlikely 441 to win its been a good couple of hours.

About time Poynton pulled his finger out with the bat mind you....scored some runs in the 2nds last season but year before that he didnt look that great when he played against us in the Derbyshire County League.

To be honest even CricInfo isnt great in terms of bonus points etc unless you happen to be looking at the right time. We took 2 of the 3 bowling points on offer and i think we've probably picked up 4 based on the score currently and overs that have gone based on this breakdown of how they are obtained in the first 110 overs :-

a A maximum of five batting points to be available as under:

200 to 249 runs................................................... 1 point
250 to 299 runs ................................................. 2 points
300 to 349 runs ................................................. 3 points
350 to 399 runs ................................................. 4 points
400 runs or over ................................................ 5 points

We got 2 of the 3 bowling points on offer.

On that point suspect Hampshire didnt get any batting seeing as they were skittled for 180ish but will have picked up 3 bowling points.

Hampshire losing would be a big result as they'll miss out on another 3 points.

Last game is going to be a proper decider.

Hi,
On request, we're going to merge the cricket threads, in the next day or so we will move this to the other sport section.
It'll still be called the cricket thread but should save you typing the same things in two threads!

Cheers

Denny

Btw, weather in northampton is a dry but a bit cold. Looking at the sky over the floodlights of the cricket ground, there is a teeny bit of blue poking through the grey.

283 seems to be the all time first class record for the ninth wicket by any team. And that team was Derbsyshire (per cricnfo) 283- Warren and Chapman v Warwicks at Blackwell in 1910. Could they?

Edit- already the record for Divison Two of the County Championship

9th wicket stand of 220 so far. The best for Derbyshire is 283 by Arnold Warren and John Chapman v. Warwickshire at Blackwell in 1910 which is, in fact, a WORLD RECORD for a 9th wicket partnertship. Dare we hope?

Its certainly some effort thats for sure...at 180-6 we were up against it but now we should be pushing on to try and win it. Lead of a 100 and then try and get some early wickets this evening.

Hundred for Poynton as the partnership gets to 246...think a declaration could be in the offing shortly

Maybe although i suspect we are now batting out the day as not worth declaring.

For those interested by the way...this is the scorecard for the current record :-
