Crap game, Crap atmosphere, Crap night.

Kovacs and Downes did ok, to say there are young and have hardly played all season, so no complaints there, from me.

Folan did well after he came on, which i'm glad about, because although I admit he isn't doing the biz I do feal sorry for him but he did well tonight.

Anyways on and upwards. Got Southend on Saturday should be 'interesting' to say the least.

Sorry but were you at a different game to me?

I thought it was a decent enough game but we went to pieces when Chief went off and Folan came on. Folan did nothing for me and I'm not a member of his hate squad. I want him to do well but he did nothing to get the boo boys off his back tonight.

I thought the decision to sub Hurst for Smith was a poor one as Hurst had caused them problems and Hall looked shattered. After that, we never looked like scoring.

Actually i also thought he did well when he came on. Offered us something a bit different but wasnt helped by members of the crowd waiting to jump on anything he did wrong or right but they still had a go. He had more efforts on goal than Cheif did in his time on the pitch and probably caused them a few more problems trying to get in behind them. His problem was that he didnt get balls to play on that and all he had was balls lifted into the wind that by the time they reached him the wind was already blowing it back towards our half.

Totally agree about the Hurst substitute. Hall was ambling, presumably tired so why take off our most creative player. The team became flat and disjointed from that point onwards. Anybody else feeling totally dejected?

i said the other night about praise where praise was due about folan. he came on and game a decent enough performance. held the ball and played balls to palyers with open space around them. had a decent enough chance to score.

problem last night is that there was no movement when we started to play more directly to the strikers.

I thought we were crap last night, Donny looked the better side, we were down to the bare bones but we never really got it together.

I did however bet on Price to score the opener (i was hoping for a win from behind :( ) Ł5 @ 16/1

Chief wasn't a threat all night. Didn't miss a chance because his movement in the box was not there. Got on the end of absolutely nothing and I thought he looked as if he was struggling from early on - well before he came off.

I thought we lost our shape after Smith was brought on. He just kept drifting inside and was not making himself available to receive passes.

I was disappointed that we didn't see Heath last night.

Good game, good atmosphere, frustrating night. We had more possession, more shots, one defensive mistake, missed enough chances to win. No need for doom and gloom at all, nobody had a bad game, great credit to the young lads. We will win quite a few more games, and are still in with a play-off chance, so wake up and stop moaning.

I'm not moaning, just stating a fact that the game and atmosphere was crap.

After travelling to Hartlepool and watching Folan and watching him last night he has improved a hell of a lot, hopefully now he is going to get a run in the team he will become a bigger threat! Please Roy drop Paul Hall, for 4-5 games now he has been woeful and uninterested, finally, after hearing the story about adam smith missing the bus to hartlepool and then going out on the town i was shocked when hursty was subbed for him! I bet going out on the town was the problem roy had with tcham and look what he's done to him, and smith gets rewarded by being brought on for our best player!? Come on Roy son, pull your socks up against Southend!

....or Roy knows all of the facts and made his judgement accordingly. I think its clear enough that Roy doesn't fools gladly (who does ?!) so I can't imagine that Adam would have been playing last night if there was anything other than a very reasonable explanation for it all. I'm not saying that any of it is made up, because I have no idea what went on apart from what I read on here, but Roy has first hand contact with the player and possibly a very different perspective on the situation.

Trust in Roy.
These pretzels are making me thirsty!

The atmosphere was poor but the game itself was good entertainment.
Guess I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue!

I thought the same except that we cannot survive against good teams with those 4 in midfield. We gotta go 4-5-1 or try an experimental defensive formation and go 3-5-2. I honestly think those 4 give us one of the weakest midfields in the division. It's pitiful seeing Allott struggle without the extra man to give him the ball. He's good when he's given room to play, he's anonimous if he is being closely marked, and he's hopeless at stopping the opposition play maker. Sarfend have a man mountain in there (forget his name) and if it's left to Allott to stop him playing, we are in big trouble.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

Had the same thoughts myself about the chief he was ball watching alot of the time ,saw Larkin put at least two chances his way when he was near the six yard box and he made no effort to go for the ball even when one was only a couple of yards away giving their defender time to move in and clear.
