Good luck to him but I think Hird and Forbes are better.
Guess I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue!

Hird is. I like Forbes but I'm not sure I'd be able to say he's better than Simon yet. Either way we've still only got 3 centre halves.

Edit: has he deffo signed for them? i'm being told by a good chum that it fell through yesterday?

Aaron completes Torquay deal. Not a bad place to go

Wish the lad all the best, he's not had a lot of luck injury wise and looked to be so promising early on.

Greg Fleming has signed a one-year deal with us (Grimsby Town). He will only be cover though as James McKeown will be our Number One keeper again this year.

Well he certainly impressed in the friendly he played for us last Friday night.

A 0-0 draw against a very strong Hull team and he make some great saves and his handling of crosses was faultless.

I'm not sure he is anything special but he certainly wasnt helped by coming into our side that at the time wasnt very good...especially at the back. He was probably not a lot worse than many of those to feature just in front of him but being a keeper he was more exposed to folk seeing it in a similar way to what happened to Barry Roche although the stick\abuse didnt reach the same levels thankfully. After that his confidence like most was shot and everything was a mistake waiting to happen due to the pressure on him. May well do a steady job should he need to, he makes a good start and the side are doing ok.

Hope he does well for you but regardless of one game for you he was terrible for us. Didn't command his area one jot.

Well he genuinely impressed on Friday night and it was a unanimous verdict on our messageboard after the game that we should sign him up.

Only time will tell if that game was a one off or not but I doubt he will actually play unless our first choice keeper either gets injured, sent off or has a couple of shockers.

That's what a lot of town fans said about Barry Roche but he's been Morecambe's player of the season each year since he left us.

I think that says more about morecambe than Barry

could be a confidence thing with both players and often our fans don't help - look at the stick Gregor has had over the years and how good he became, eventually.

Fleming's problems to me seemed his lack of height, and perhaps his awareness, having an ever changing defence in front of him - that were shipping goals with Tommy in the net can't have helped either.

Good look to Greg, he wasn't that bad... compared to Soderberg!

And if he does impress at Grimsby then it'll make Sheridan look less stupid for signing him when he'd previously challenged Crossley for the keepers jersey at Oldham.
