Rotherhams ground is miles better than Don Valley and Millmoor and it's just a matter of taste if you like it or not. To me it just looks strange from the inside, like someone tried to do the job with not enough lego bricks.....

I suspect someone with Tony Stewart's business sense will have made sure that he has the best structure in place for tax reasons and that will definitely involve the club having debt.

It will also have trade creditors who it owes money to - that is debt.

You are, once again, wrong....

So you Honestly believe that Your Chairman has GIVEN you all the Money required to build the stadium and does not want a single penny back.

Hasn't he given the Money as a Debenture.

I'm not sure who the Biggest Fool is, The Fans for believing it or the Chairman for doing it.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder so this 'which is better' is an unwinnable argument on both sides.
I'm looking forward to our visit and I'll give it a proper judgement then.
The big question is........
Can you Christen it in the best way possible by being champions (LIKE WE DID! ;) )?

Ok, so, for what it's worth, I'll add my bit.

The deal with the Lindley Group doesn't depend on attendances. Also, each stand has been independently sponsored, as opposed to the whole ground. There are also privately rented units within the stadium, and two have been announced as Starbucks, to follow the New York theme ;) and a private gym. The surrounding area, including the Guest & Chrimes buildings are hopefully going to be redeveloped to allow for a hotel chain development.

RU Estates owns the entire site, and that is basically Tony Stewart, so if he walks, apart from losing a Hell of a lot of money, we would be in the mire. He has put up the entire funding, but will recoup a large sum in grants. I'm not sure how many football league chairmen have this amount of sole level of control, but I would imagine it's a lot. For example, what would happen if Dave Allen did the same and woke up one morning and decided to walk away. Naturally, the football team is the product, so the better the team does, the more chance of the chairman getting his money back, so he has positioned himself in such a way that success on the pitch is vital.

Also, I think, in all honesty, that it is up there as one of the best new build stadiums in the last few years, and IT'S HOME. It's also a 5 minute walk from the train station, has ample parking, and is a 5 minute walk to the town centre pubs. I look forward to welcoming you all there!

You forgot to mention Barclays Bank & their funding.....

BTW, we have one operating company that owns the land & stadium. Why does TS want to keep your land / ground separate?

Now he could charge them rent or just in case history repeats itself, he's probably wise to keep the assets to one side!

I wonder if his business plan involves the FC paying rent to the 'landlord'. The FC runs up massive debts - including oodles to the 'landlord' and goes into admin again, writing off said debt but getting a cva accepted due to the 'landlord' voting to accept.

Only speculation of course, but this is R'ham we're talking about

No debt???? In plain English You may well find that you could well be wrong on that point. But time will tell! Chairmen and boards put the moneies in and eventually will require paying back. Something Rotherham United arn't used to doing. So I can see how you see it as NO DEBT!

What a great idea - I guess this is what certain businesses do ie. run up debts they can't afford to pay back. Go into administration and the 'owners' find a way to buy the business/club back debt free. Totally immoral, but like you say, this is Rotherham we're talking about - no morals at all.

Get a grip PAC you're making yourself look stupid man.

I ain't drooling over your ground because YOU play on it NOT US!!

I don't go to Old Trafford and wish I was Man Utd fan, it's a nice ground but I am completely ambivalent becuase ITS NOT MY GROUND!!!

NY look decent, but its made of concrete and plastic like every other ground. It's just as "lego" as ours, Shrewsburys etc etc.

If you go 30 games unbeaten I might be jealous but to suggest that I would "drool" over a ground is, quite frankly, ridiculous.

And we will take 3,000 because it's close, and it's a new ground.

Dear oh dear (shakes head).
