So tell me about R U Estates & Stewart Developments......

Yes, one suspects the day Stewart wants out- it will be yes, that figure is for the club, but you can't afford the ground? Well carry on renting it, - of course the rent is now......

Coventry all over again?

Architects have discovered a major flaw in the plans at NYS this late in the build and are not sure what to do. They found out the stands FACE the pitch.

They got £6.1million over a 5 year deal....so everything the company makes from matchday food, corporate hospitality and any events that take place all goes to the company rather than the club....

Is it a good deal...who knows, the only people who will, compared to our club are the accounts....do we make £1.2million a year profit from food and alcohol sales, matchday corporate and year long events income?

That could be a good deal if they do poorly and crowds drop from what is projected

I suspect we probably do...quite comfortably but thats just a complete guess and no real basis for saying it!!

DA has chosen a different business model to Rotherham, as you say we don't know

The other thing we should be careful of is this gloating too much about the Rotherham's ground ownership situation. If I was a Rotherham fan I would have grave concerns, but we shouldn't forget that DA or the next chairman could split the ground from football club at any time and we would in their situation

Depends how the deal is structured. I would imagine the headline figure is the amount they get if every game is a sell out, with the sum dropping as the average attendance does. If they average 3k, as at DVS, expect them to get around £100k per year

They haven't sold the naming rights which make us about £100k pa. On balance our approach looks more sensible.

I think ours is more reliable and controllable. After the experience of Leeds under Ridsdale, any club that effectively mortgages its future by "selling" any future income needs to have its bumps felt, really.

Ok, so, for what it's worth, I'll add my bit.

The deal with the Lindley Group doesn't depend on attendances. Also, each stand has been independently sponsored, as opposed to the whole ground. There are also privately rented units within the stadium, and two have been announced as Starbucks, to follow the New York theme ;) and a private gym. The surrounding area, including the Guest & Chrimes buildings are hopefully going to be redeveloped to allow for a hotel chain development.

RU Estates owns the entire site, and that is basically Tony Stewart, so if he walks, apart from losing a Hell of a lot of money, we would be in the mire. He has put up the entire funding, but will recoup a large sum in grants. I'm not sure how many football league chairmen have this amount of sole level of control, but I would imagine it's a lot. For example, what would happen if Dave Allen did the same and woke up one morning and decided to walk away. Naturally, the football team is the product, so the better the team does, the more chance of the chairman getting his money back, so he has positioned himself in such a way that success on the pitch is vital.

Also, I think, in all honesty, that it is up there as one of the best new build stadiums in the last few years, and IT'S HOME. It's also a 5 minute walk from the train station, has ample parking, and is a 5 minute walk to the town centre pubs. I look forward to welcoming you all there!

Seriously though the bit Pac or any other Rotherham Fan doesn't get is,

I am not jealous.

Would I want their stadium NO because it comes with a big debt that WE would struggle to cover.

Would I want the hype and excitement of a new ground after so long in the outbacks, YES. Would I pay so much extra for the pleasure, NO

Would I go in to Great Debt when my track record was so poor NO.

Would our Stadium be better than yours if we filled the corners in. I'm not sure but it will hold more and still cost less.

Does a Croissant design make the team play better, NO
Does a Croissant design make the Supporters view or experience better, err NO

The success of the Team will be in the hands of the Manager and players on the pitch not in a stupidly named debt riddled ground.

DA set a target to Gary Cook of £1m for the first season from concourse sales. The actual figure was at £1.2m at Christmas and there was still Corporates and functions to include. Chuck in an Elton john, Beer Festival, a few Weddings, 32 "Bring your boots" Games and a couple of Internationals and you soon hit your targets.

I'm afraid everything your Stadium has is just cosmetic and over priced at that. All that us fans here are doing is asking the questions we asked and making sense of the answers. Remember we have been there, have the T Shirts even a Trophy or Two.

Live within you means, No who you can trust and definately know where the money is coming from.

So am I jealous - Not at all

Kev, not sure if you read my post, or if yours is in response, but I don't get what you're saying.

If anyone has suggested that CFC fans should be jealous, it is quite obviously a wind up and is not the case. I must admit to more than a little envy watching Donny build a new ground and go up, then watching CFC build a new ground and go up, but that was because we were playing at Millmoor and then Death Valley. I also wouldn't compare our stadium to anyone else's. I think our new stadiums are a million miles ahead of Millmoor, Belle Vue and Saltergate, and were a necessity to ensure the future of our clubs.

To say that everything about New York Stadium is overpriced and just cosmetic is a bit of a glib statement, and I'm sure the club are living within its means. I do find it annoying that people don't seem to grasp the fact that the current regime are nothing to do with the previous ones. Remember, we haven't spent a penny on transfers, and the wage bill is no different to the last two seasons. We have, however, been able to attract a better calibre of player due to the 'stupidly named debt riddled ground', and the future training facilities, so, in a way, the 'Does a Croissant design make the team play better' has to be a resounding YES.

Looks decent, obviously a million miles better than the Eastern European Stadium.

I'm pleased for the genuine Millers fans, but all this rubbish about people being jealous of each others grounds? Whats that about?

They'll love it because it's THEIR ground, I love the B2Net because it's MY ground. They could play at the equivalent to the new Brighton ground and I wouldn't be jealous, because it's not MY ground.

Looking forward to beating them on it, 3,000 Town fans behind the goal singing away to their hearts content. Bring it on.

3000 fans behind the goal    best joke i've heard in ages..

as for our debt let's see if you can understand English ROTHERHAM HAVE NO DEBT...

If Chesterfield had a ground like NYS you lot would be drooling over it but you haven't you have a nice legoland type stadium which is ok for the Chesterfield..
