I'm not even a Niven fan and I agree. And why the hell did we bring Boden on instead of Bowery? Boden gets constantly bullied by centre halves and isn't good enough for this league.

Exactly, I lost count of how many times he gave the ball away when we needed to keep it. This is where we miss Allott, for all his faults he can keep hold of the ball and keeps it on the ground, exactly what we didn't do

I did, and I won't enjoy 3000+ ******s celebrating in my clubs ground.

But that is what I am expecting to see

Tonight's result, win lose or draw would have made absolutely no difference to Bury's season. They werent going to make the play offs or be relegated. We NEEDED that win tonight but we couldnt do what was needed to keep them out. Its so hard to be optimistic about survival after the last 2 away results.

2750 or whatever it is.

It's funny, they're expecting exactly the opposite.

Niven wasn't even on the bench; Shezza has probably forgotten he even exists

No defender, no defensive midfielder just four attackers on the bench. Injuries aside, the clown can't even select a balanced bench

And after playing Talbot in defence for a year he doesn't drop him back there to cover for an injury when he has a glut of right midfielders available.

Thomson does not look like a full back to me

It was just someone was saying they have sold lots of corporate stuff to the Bowels, 3000+ sounds more dramatic anyway

And don't pick on me!!!

I am a beacon of optimism compared with some on here

CFC have been so close to 6pts in the last two games it really hurts.

The defence has improved of late, and OK, there were lapses on Sat.

However, the reliance on B&B as our fallback options is a major cause of concern.

Surely it would be so much easier to kill teams off and close games out if we had the big target man option.

Mr.Turner - CFC's transfer business isn't over. We need a target man.

God help me

I admit I am a miserable old *****, but check back when old Chris was spouting on in December about needing promotion form to escape relegation - I was Mr Positivo and said "nay lad do the maths"

However, the maths are beginning to stack up in his favour, due to our inability to beat the [on paper] weaker teams since then. Having said that at this time of the season is hard to judge as all the crap teams have panicked and brought in loads of new players.

It is all down to whether you think Shezza is better than his rivals

The form we will require is escalating all the time.

I don't, as a general rule, believe in must wins BUT ... Saturday is vital on so many levels.

If we get at least 5 points from the Bowels, Charlton, MK and Udders that'll keep us in with a shout

I reckon we need to be targeting around 66% of the remaining points

Thompson at right back? Doesn't strike me as being somewhere he can play with comfort. Hope to be wrong.

He didn't look comfortable either - I thought Trotman could play right back so to me this was a better option.

Smith and Morgan have travelled according to commentary, just not in the squad.

Both were warming up before kick off when all the rest of the players had gone in.

There's a cat on the pitch according to commentary :S Not sure what's going on there!

Obviously a copy cat given what happened at Anfield last week.

331 Chesterfield there.

I guessed about 200, expected a better following, but I suppose given it was Valentines day, and people will this week be forking out for Wembley tickets, and bowels tickets something will have to give for many, not much of an atmosphere tonight, both sets of fans were quiet for most of the game.

Big crowd at Bury, 2,266 altogether. Good to see them out in numbers to support their side despite Manchester United/City being on TV. Oh, hang on....

There looked like about 1000 Bury fans too, loads and loads of empty seats, was like an early JPT attendance.

Looked like it could be a goalless game, then we scored :) Bury didn't look much of a danger, until late in the game when they got forward more and more and eventually the inevitable happened. Shame we didn't score when the keeper was off his line and the defender headed the ball off the line - don't think a shot from distance was really necessary given the time Lester had, but for me our possession really needs to improve, we give the ball away way too often to get out of the relegation zone and invite the opposition to create chances. Lowry was frustrating tonight with his poor set pieces, expected better given what I saw of him from the highlights of Crewe's games on tv.

One other thing, blue numbers on green shirts really annoys me, by now surely people who design kits should be aware that they can't be seen from distance, white would be miles better, we have a fair few players that look similar, it doesn't help when your a million miles away from the pitch due to not one but two gangways between the seats and the pitch.

Oh, and one final thing, don't think anyone has mentioned that just before the second half started the scoreboard read Bury 0 Chesterfield 10, if only, we might be able to keep a lead then.

town were ok until the last 20 mins.

then they just could not hold the ball up front and it kept coming back time after time, boden was the worst culprit but lester was as bad late on.

this just invited pressure and the goal eventually came.

why was'nt westcarr or bowery brought on before boden, both have a better physical presence ? sodje just out muscled him / boden for the rest of the time.

thompson aint a full back that was so glaring, no wonder all burys play went down that side in the 2nd half.

substitions again poor and made no effect on the game nor relieved the pressure, wave after wave of burys attacks towards the end.

would have thought Lester would have gone off earlier, especially given we've got a MASSIVE game on saturday. I fully expected Lester going off when Boden came on.
