But has he been any worse than anyone else?! He was one of the least bad players on quite a few occasions, I know that isn't saying much but I can't think of a single performance, where he's been played in position, that warrants being dropped from the squad entirely...

Your right kg. I've said before that Smith should never have been dropped and we could have used the limit on loan signings better than signing another left back, but I suppose thats history now, though for Smith it isn't (but its certainly looking that way for him - very odd).

This is a real litmus test - was the defeat at Carlisle a blip or normal sevice being resumed?

The bottom line is that if any remaining hopes of survival are to be kept alive Town have to be winning games like this.

Games are running out and our relegation clock is ticking ever closer to midnight.
Never underestimate the stupidity of people

We'll win comfortably tonight. 4-1. Lester, Ajose(2) and Trotters. You heard it here first girls.

Talbot is RM, Thompson RB, Mendy CM...
Sounding like certain positions have been drawn out of a hat, interesting to see if and how this works out!

Thompson at right back? Doesn't strike me as being somewhere he can play with comfort. Hope to be wrong.

Davis is holding in midfield, Talbot right, Lowry left and Mendy behind Ajose and Lester - from twitter

Eh? Wtf! So Lowry is LM? Thomo RB? Why Shez? Just why? The above prediction of mine has been amended to a nervy 2-1 win.

This is probably the best I've felt when seeing a line up all season. Westcarr in for Mendy as and when and I think we've got our strongest XI. I'd like to think we can really impose ourselves tonight and score 3 for the first time in god knows how long...

I would say different, but I'd only get accused of being negative!

OK, I've never been one for hanging back if somethings got to be said
I understand Tally back at right back (though its definitely a weakness and I don't like it).
Mendy offers very little for me and Ridehalgh isn't a left winger so little to come from the wings (what little comes they will be more from Ridehalgh than Mendy's though).
Lowry needs to prove himself in the middle at this level and we are assuming he can do it from how he was and the game at Oldham (even though I'm a big fan of his).

So I don't quite see it as our strongest XI - though I do agree with you on Westcarr for Mendy and if it's a fitness thing then fair enough again.

It could come down to how good Jamie is back in the middle at this level for me as the wide players aren't going to provide much for the front two.

Interesting game and Bury is only the start (as far as the quality of our opponents go), I really hope we get over this first hurdle and keep in the running for when we face the tougher jumps.

EDIT: and that was before I saw how we are lining up

Really can't make out who's playing where at the minute
Educated guess from what's been said on commentary:
Lee
Thompson Trotman Robbo Ridehalgh
Talbot Davis Lowry (No one on left apparently)
Mendy
Lester Ajose

A predicted side, that looked perfectly balanced, has once again been turned into an unbalanced mess by Sheridan. I just don't understand this blokes thinking sometimes. I'm pro Sheridan but he consistently baffles.

For anyone listening to Player and has also got the live commentary on I've found out how to turn 'Skippy' off! If you go to the bottom of the page there is a turn sound off option! Praise the lord!

Commentary said no one on the left going forward... even though twitter suggests otherwise, so no idea what's correct.
